I wonder if this is the right scale for this game?

No, 1/35 scale is around 51-52mm scale, or almost twice the size it should be for the miniatures in IA.
Oh, and HOLY S#}]!!!! That thing is going to be HUGE! Somewhere around 2 feet tall (642mm).
The old WotC At-At is pretty close to the correct scale for IA, it's about 13-14" tall, not 25".

An At-At should only be referenced in Campaign text if you want it in the game. it is just too big. I love the At-At, it is my favourite vehicle in star wars, but i understand, it just wont work in this game as a unit. unless it is flavour text in a campaign mission, where it perhaps blasts areas from a distance off the board.
Edited by Spidey NZI don't know if the interior of an AT-AT has ever been mapped, but I suspect you could make a decent IA scenario set inside one.

BEHOLD!

Again, for the OP, THIS AT-AT is a pretty good size for IA miniatures

Shop around though, that price kinda sucks.
And, as Spidey mentions, it would require some sort of special scenario or house rules for an AT-AT to work with this ruleset. Someone on here posted about a modification to play IA without a grid on a regular 6x4 wargaming table, it would probably be doable like that.
I can tell you from personal experience that 1/35 scale models are too big for tabletop wargames. 1/48 is much more manageable, and happens to line up exactly with O-scale model trains, which can make scenery much easier to come by.
I don't want to get into a debate about scale but I think you'll find 1/35 is just too far out of synch with the existing IA minis.
The closest range of scale models for IA will be 1/48. Ban-Dai makes two kits in this scale so far. an AT-ST and a snowspeeder.
I have the AT-ST and have to say it makes a great replacement for the sort of silly looking AT-ST in the core box. it stands quite a bit taller than the core set model but takes up about the same amount of space.
i'm hoping to get the ban-dai snowspeeder at some point.
It is a shame.
Too big for Imperial Assault
Too slow for sensible use in "proper" X-Wing
Yet the AT-AT is a favourite.
Will check out the Ban-Dai AT-ST though. Would be cool if they're more accurate to RotJ.
IF we were going to see a AT-AT in IA would it not have come out during the Hoth expansion?
I think the window has closed on that unit?
AT-ST will definitely see some love in the Endor expansion, until those **** rebel ally Ewoks start destroying them..
I have the WOTC AT-AT. Trying to figure out a way to use it for IA. Probably on the WOTC maps since they're larger. And incorporate some sort of objective like the Walker Assault game mode in Battlefront.
an AT-AT in IA would make a good target for a commando raid. taking one down luke style or better yet trying to capture it.

That's another thought. The WotC At-At has a grid molded onto its base. Construct an IA map (using the hoth tiles, of course) surrounding the figure and have the mission be to get to it and sabotage or access or something. Yeah, the At-at miniature wouldn't actually serve a purpose a cardboard tile wouldn't, it would just be a prop, but it would be a cool prop.an AT-AT in IA would make a good target for a commando raid. taking one down luke style or better yet trying to capture it.
That would be neat. In the scenario the AT-AT is inactive. Cool idea. ![]()
A WOTC AT-AT makes the best tournament prize.
Here is the one I was thinking of getting to use. it's 10.5" tall so the scale is off, but I just want it to have a remote control AT-AT. Figuring out how to use it in the game would be a bonus!
Oh, it is only available at Toys"R"Us stores.

I like to think of the AT-ST model as a sort of infantry variant. At twenty feet that thing is still frightening. I really wish they would have gone with the AT-PT or AT-MP instead (especially the second).

AT-MP would be way out of scale for this game (as cool as the unit is).
Anything measuring engagement distances in kilometers and using area saturation missile attack is way too powerful for Imperial Assault.
It would he cool if they had an "axis and allies minis" scale vehicle game along the same scale and scope as their XWing game.
What about Bandai's 1/48 scale kits? I would love to do an Imperial Assault diorama.

I mentioned them early in the thread. They are great kits and very close to the IA scale.
After the release of four player game modes, it seems with a few more expansions an Imperial Assault Epic play would be possible. I could see them making 3'x3' neoprene gaming mats with grids and terrain marked out. Have a Rebel Echo Base map, Endor Bunker map,...Jakku? o_0
