I played my 3rd friendly match last night at a local store my build is still in the get the sip stage so I went with

I was up against a TIE Punisher and 'Echo' , now my question come with Echo, the player had used

Echo

* Advanced Sensor

* Stygium Particle Accelerator

* Recon Specialist

* Push the Limit

His turn with Echo was something like this

1. Decloak - Barrel Roll / Boost 2 bank as stated on card

2. Recieve a free Evade for the Decloak

3. Push the limit for a Focus token to get another one with Recon and gain stress

4. Reveal a Green move to clear the stress

5. Cloak and gain another Evade token

My question is this, can Stygium give off 2 evade tokens in the one turn he just had?

Battle Report:

* Punisher misjudged a boost and left the field leaving behind a bomb that did nothing

* Carnor Jax was killed by a crit that needed rolling for each combat phase lol

* Echo finally bit the bullet when Soontir and Turr got her in Range 1 both sides and just went to town

Stygium cannot give you 2 evade tokens. It says "perform a free evade action" you can only perform an evade action once per round.

If it said assign an evade token it could be used to acquire 2 focus tokens in the way you described.

Also, in that description, Advanced Sensors isn't doing much since he's PTLing off the decloak evade action. I'm assuming he was probably PTLing off Advanced Sensors, though, but then he woudln't be cloaking as an action.

I couldnt challenge it because I don't know them cards to well, I got the Phantom last night but had not opened it, I was playing on the whim he knew what he was doing since by the sounds he had played other matches using the same setup he was just trialing the Punisher as a back up to Echo

Adv Sens does nothing in that situation since he was ptl'ing off of the SPA, but it is useful for moves when he's already decloaked. It is legal to do something like focus + evade via ptl and adv sens, then show a green maneuver to clear the stress the same turn.

Somewhat common mistake is performing the same action twice in one round - which is not allowed.

He either forgot that or did not realize that you could not do it.

Something to keep in mind is that when someone does something you are not sure of - get them to explain what allows them to do that. I like to verbally announce what I am doing to my opponent, which helps keep me straight on my actions and also makes sure they understand what I am doing.

I have played some people that move and then throw out multiple tokens with no explanation. At that point I ask, to make sure I understand, as well as make sure it's OK per the rules.

1. Decloaking provides movement like a Boost/BR but is not.

2. The decloak would trigger SPA allowing for an Evade Action.

3. That free Evade Action does allow PtL to trigger allowing him to take the Focus action for two Focus tokens and the Stress.

4. Once it is actually his turn to maneuver he may reveal a Green which clears the Stress.

5. He may now take his action which could be Cloak. However, because he has already performed an Evade action he may NOT do so again.

I wonder what Advanced Sensors does in this scenario. It can be modified however to make AS relevant.

He still doesn't get to use SPA twice as it just gives a free action but that action may only be used once. If that is his turn plan I wonder what good Advanced Sensors really are. I also wonder what his plan of attack is because while that set up may make Echo a real pain to track down and kill it also leaves him unable to attack. If he can't attack he'll have a hard time winning.

That covers Echo. Now looking at your list Fel looks extremely standard. I'd say Jax is an absolute mess; dump Marksmanship and the TC and add a Shield Upgrade although there is so much to do there. Remember that Jax likes to be up close which minimizes Autothrusters (unless facing a turret) and he really doesn't have the actions to support TC and Marksmanship with the second barely being better than just taking a Focus action. I also don't like Turr; I feel the AT would be better on him and I question the upgrades selected. I believe you can do better with just the Interceptor, ImpAces, and the Starviper.

I think you mean "one Focus token and one Evade token".

No the build had RecSpec so two focus tokens.

Advanced Sensors would let you Focus and Cloak with PTL prior to moving to avoid a problem if you got blocked or had to go across a debris field. It might be smarter to do that up front instead of doing it after you moved.

If lower PS ships blocked your intended move and you ran into them, you would not be able to cloak after a green maneuver and likely be quickly melted.

Only not covered is your boost off the playing area. That isnt allowed anymore. If a boost takes you out, you put the ship back and choose another action or different boost. This was changed in the last FAQ.

Only not covered is your boost off the playing area. That isnt allowed anymore. If a boost takes you out, you put the ship back and choose another action or diffeeent boost.

From what I understand the plan was two fold, have a strong ship that would be able to dish out the damage and hopefully win, if not the "extreme" defensive Echo would play out to a points win or loss instead of a full Loss

The advice I like to offer two-fold is to focus on damage output and what contributes to it and to never trust green dice
