Why nothing in the major cities on the east, west, or south?
Honestly, does anyone think that FFG is picking the midwest to have these events at, simply because they don't like other parts of the country or something?
Does it not occur to people that maybe, just maybe, they're having them where they are because the logistics don't work somewhere else?
Edit: I mean I get people wishing they had them somewhere else and even making a comment about it... But it seems like some people honestly think they're doing this to spite the rest of the US and Canada or something.
I'm not saying they don't like the rest of the country, just pointing out that if they are trying to take the next step in competitive organized play, they need to branch out a bit. Since they already have so many events near them, this would've been an excellent opportunity to have a large event in Atlanta, or Vegas, or Dallas, etc. I'm sure someone will say "well maybe they will in the future", and that may be true, but my point is this was a golden opportunity since this is a whole new concept to of an event to begin with.
They're not hosting these things (World's aside anyway) themselves though, FFG Organized Play is a relatively tiny part of the company. They don't have the manpower to host their own major events like this all around the country, and World's only works because, as I understand it, basically the entire company is involved in some capacity that week/weekend. It's an unfortunate circumstance that the most reasonable events to partner with, attendance and orientation wise, are all located in the north/central US.
