Whisper and redline

By Comely, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I played this list for a couple of games last night and it did real well for me but I did have a few lucky dodges when they were able to get some shots on a decloaked whisper.

TIE Phantom: •"Whisper" (44)

Advanced Cloaking Device (4)

Decoy (2)

Sensor Jammer (4)

Tactician (2)

TIE Punisher: •"Redline" (38)

Cluster Missiles (4)

Extra Munitions (2)

Plasma Torpedoes (3)

Fire Control System (2)

TIE/FO Fighter: •Epsilon Ace (17)

Total: 99/100

I kept epsilon close to whisper so he could always fire first and kept a Dodge on the ace in the first game. in the second game everyone ignored the ace.

Why does Whisper have Decoy? She wants to fire as close to the top of initiative order as possible to recloak with ACD, but she's paired with two lower PS allies. In such a list VI is the better choice compared to Decoy.

Epsilon Ace has a ps of 12 until he has a damage card. As long as he's close to Whisper then whisper is always firing first unless you are mysteriously up against another epsilon ace.

Did you find it difficult to keep E Ace within 1-2 of Whisper? Was that pretty much Ace's focus the whole time?

Not really, although in the first game I played he got tagged in the third turn by a double crit from an A wing that I manged to roll zero dodges for, left him with a single hull point. After that I used him to block Corran but I had to get lucky to survive a range one shot from Corran the next turn because he got to fire first.

My second game the ace never got targeted and just tried to stay on Whispers target the whole time which in the act of trying to maneuver for shots seemed to always keep him in range. That being said the second list only had poe with better then the 7 ps so the 12 wasnt as much of an advantage.
