I love Xwing and starwars. My friends are Trekkies. It's a hard relationship. My easiest way to get them into Xwing is to get them into attack wing first and then show them the better balanced game that x-wing is.

So with anyone whose played attack wing. What can I get so that I have one game of attack wing that's fairly well balanced I can play with them. I don't plan on playing out in public so don't need to min max and don't need tons of lists. Just one balanced list for each side.

Any thoughts?

What people love about the game is the lore of it and feeling you're in the star wars or star trek universe.

if you love trek you wont see the game as being 'worse' it will be better because you identify with the ship classes and characters.

I would try and deny all knowledge of attack wing and just get them to have a go at your 'spaceship combat game'

dont make a big deal about it being star wars and potentially antagonising them, just make a big deal about it being fun.

Just take a sharpie and rename all your cards! Millennium Falcon becomes the Enterprise. Why not, they're both round. Fel becomes Kahn, because Benedict Cumberbatch in an Interceptor would be sweet. And Chewie becomes a Tribble.
