I haven't flown Dash in ages so thought it was time to bring him back into the fold.
Is anyone flying this combo and if so how are you finding it in the current meta?

I haven't flown it myself, but I gave it to a friend of mine for testing a hard stress controll list I build. R2-D2 Poe won him the game. We tried another game where he paired Dash with Miranda and I stomped him. Dash/Poe is a potent list and it will take you far.
I've flown against it in a casual game and I found that it wasn't very strong. People complain about Dash a lot but honestly he's super predictable. Might change when we see Kanan/Dash turn up though.

maybe some instances of BlackCracks.
you guess what happens to Dash now...
Poe is great, but nog as strong as Corran. Plus you can't really spend the 4-5 points you save effectively.
Well, when you get Kanan, I think it'll be really strong. Kanan removing PTL Corran's stress? Wow.
I had a lot of success with it when Poe first came out.
I only really stopped playing it because i get bored easily
How do you fill out the remaining points? If you make Poe fat you night as well take Corran and Dash doesn't really need anything else. Maybe prockets but that doesn't sound that great...
This is what I gave my buddy. I like this Poe build better than a bad compromise of a Corran build.

You should chuck Weapon Guidance on Poe or switch R2-D2 for R5-P9 and add plasma torps.

What? There is no Weapons Guidance in that build, I don't like it on Poe, although I might reconsider that. I dislike Plasma Torps, they have the same problems as any ordnance. R2-D2 is better in a stress meta, which is what I was creating with my list.

No real reason not to take it if you're not doing anything else with the 2 points, especially given your PS isn't high enough to worry about making an initiative bid. You won't use it all the time, of course (either because you don't need to or you need the Focus for defence), but better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.
Edited by DR4COI personally think Poe does best when he has at least two other ships with him in a build. Makes it harder to just go after him. I'm currently having a lot of fun building three X-wing lists!

Yep. There are times where no one has a shot on Poe and you might as well use that focus for offense. With weapon guidance you pretty much are going to roll three hits, especially with a predator re-roll.
I think Kanaan is going to make Super Dash nuts. Full access to the dial. He'll be nearly impossible to pin down/block. You are just going to have to get lucky against him or run a swarm and spread it out all over the place.
Edited by Jo JoI flew Super Dash and Poe twice last week, mostly to blow the dust off my YT-2400 and see how Dash holds up these days. First game I ran standard Super Dash with Poe against Tycho, Jake and Jan Ors with all the trimmings.
This game was actually pretty close, at one point I had 3 HP left and he had 2. Arc dodging high PS A-wings can be tough and Poe had some issues being out of the fight half the game so he could recharge. The damage output seems a little low without Corran's double tap which means mitigating arcs becomes even more crucial. I will say that Super Dash with PTL even without Kanan is nice because everyone assumes he is predictable and a hard 3 turn while stressed is a great (but risky) way to catch someone off guard.
Second game I tried Dash with Lone Wolf, HLC and RD-D2 with two naked B-wings against 5 naked Kihraxz. This game was much easier as Dash was able get a few Range 3 shots while in arc of a single fighter. (Which somehow took out 3 shields despite Dash's 3 greens, a focus and a LW reroll
). After that the B-wings flew in leaving Dash to lazily fly in a circle plugging away with HLC shots. LW Dash is nice, but the damage output isn't as high as PTL Dash and I only used R2-D2 once so I'm not sure how effective he is.

I flew Poe and Dash 3 times last night and to put it simply, Dash is still awesome but Poe does not suit my style at all. Apart from the second game (which was against a guy that hadn't played since wave 2) Poe got taken out easy leaving Dash all on his lonesome.
After some discussion with Oliver (Nordic champ) we decided I'd be better of using PtL Dash with Intel Agent (instead of Kyle) and 2 Rookie X-Wings with R2 units and IA. I am really looking forward to giving this a go.
Gotta love a 3 turn whilst stressed or even a 1 turn, I do it probably once or twice a game to catch people out.
Edited by BCooper85I am planning on getting the YT-2400 here in a few days, and partnering him with Poe was something I was considering...excited to see someone else was thinking about it!
1.) You keep those points for an initiative bid, or spend them on prockets or weapons guidance or whatever.
2.) Yes, it's broken as ****. Any list that doesn't have turrets or aces in it autoloses to Dash. And the Poe player can just run should you actually try to kill it as Dash is tearing you apart. Once Kanan comes out and ruins the game you'll have an even harder chance chasing after Dash.
Had to please the no skillers smearing ice cream on their face. Just when we stop seeing Dash frequently and the game's meta is somewhat decent, let's buff an HLC turret with pre-nerf phantom mobility, just what this game needs. It's like we have a 10 year old as our lead game designer. "And it needs to have an HLC as a turret, and barrel roll, and push the limit, and a tie fighter dial, and it should ignore asteroids, and it should have an entirely green dial *plays around with model and makes laser noises*"
Welp, time to play nothing but Danger Zone and autowin against it and Scum Super Dash. Fat turrets are the best arc dodgers in the game, best way to counter them is just to have a turret yourself. Bravo, excellent game design.
Either that or just instantly concede whenever I get matched against kanan super dash. Yeah, I feed you a free win but you'll be deprived of a game and I can just leave the FLGS and get food and play next round. "That's blatantly ******* broken and my list autoloses to it, it's the Phantom all over again. I concede, I'm going to get food."

Poe really doesn't want to be focus fired against an entire list and compared to Dash he can seem like the easier target to get off the board first. Without double tap I've found its best to do a combo of zoom and boom and bait and switch. I still don't think Dash and Poe is as strong as Dash and Horn, but its nice to fly without sacrificing any upgrades.
Having more stuff for your enemy to shoot at like B's or X-wings is a good call. I still haven't tried any X-wings with Integrated Astromech outside of Wedge so I'd interested to see how it goes!
hyperbolic doom rant snipped for size
I honestly can say I read threads talking about dash just waiting in anticipation for the PGS rant to come. It just always makes me smile.

Yep, any list that doesn't have two of the three main pillars in X-wing is "autolose" to Dash.
Rock is also broken if you don't have Paper or Rock.
Should Dash w/ Kanan be called Jedi Dash instead of Super Dash?

Before I started playing at my FLGS and before the Phantom Nerf my roommate felt the same way you do, to the point of not wanting to play anymore, which was completely fair. I stopped playing Phantoms (or at least the "optimal" builds) for a while.
When we started getting more competitive he busted out Dash and Horn and the first several times facing that list suuuuuuucked. I felt very similar to you, and complained about it constantly and asked him not fly it every.single.****.game.
Then two things happened, I started to get better (oh hi there Mr. Doughnut hole!) and more importantly new and competitive stuff started coming out. I don't know if you've played against Dash recently and I still think Dash is top tier, but he isn't nearly as alone at the top of the mountain anymore. Outside a tournament setting (obviously) I wouldn't have a problem switching lists or opponents against someone who feels as vehemently as you do about a list, but I can't speak for everyone.
Lastly, I think he holds a needed spot as a decent option against named 6-8 TIE/In and TIE/FO lists which are extremely good against most 2-3 ship lists. Personally I would rather chase Dash around the board then face swarms all day.
Should Dash w/ Kanan be called Jedi Dash instead of Super Dash?
I propose calling it paragoomba dash. Doesn't roll off the tongue as well but it pays homage to the person on the forums who is most excited for it coming out.
Other options are PGS dash or maybe Slayer Dash

You really overestimate Kanan Dash, I will laugh whenever someone wants to put that on the table since he has no chance of ever clearing all the stress I give him. KK made Dash still dangerous when stressed and Kanan makes him a lot weaker in that situation.
