Note taking ok?

By ssage, in X-Wing

I bring a notebook to tournaments to record who I played, what they ran, how I fared against it. I only get preliminary stuff and then make notes at games end on what I remembered happening.

I've had people do this in a tourney - it always seemed fine. Just make sure to have some kind of short-hand and, whenever possible, make the notes when you have dead time.

It's not only OK, I would actively encourage it!

Just make sure you are brief, a photo on your phone and stuff is often quicker as you don't want to slow that game down.

If your opponent is expected to remember your mandatory cards, Rebel hostage etc. then a written list given to opponents really should be mandatory as well.

Even then some would still willingly 'forget' about mandatory effects when it benefits them and the opponent fails to mention it.

Note taking ok. As long it's FFG tournament approved pen and paper. Lol

coming from a 40k background, I always have copies of my list on hand for my opponents in a nice little star wars folder.
