Also.... We have like 60 pages of ppl wanting it.... If it comes out, will these same ppl be appeased? Or, will it spawn another 100 pages of assault gunboat "fix" ideas?

I think everybody who played the old TIE Fighter PC game wants both the Gunboat and the Missile Boat. I also think that odds are very slim that we'll get either. I doubt Disney will allow a non-TIE into the game, even if FFG wanted to make one. If they weren't going to pair the Missile Boat with the K-Wing when they introduced SLAM, why would release it later?

Why would Disney care? Disney just wants to make as much money as possible off their four billion dollar investment. It's irrelevant to them what little toy space ships Fantasy Flight sells as long as they say Star Wars on the packaging that reminds you that you haven't bought the latest Extra Special Han Shoots First Edition Blu-Ray.
The only reason they axed the EU was because they didn't want to have to follow any rules when they made their new movies and shows. This game already has a ton of ships from comic books most people never read.

It's actually not irrelevant to them at all. In the World's Interviews, and an audio interview, NOVA maybe, last fall, they said the ships FFG are allowed to make are essentially chosen for them by the Empire of the Mouse. For this reason, I don't think its entirely relevant what people want or don't want. My personal opinion is that TIE Variants, due to their modularity, make far more sense than creating a ship with a new chassis that fulfills a similar role to others. But like I said, this opinion and many others are essentially moot at this point. And hey, if we get the Star Wing, many people would be overjoyed and I'd be happy for them.
It is my prediction, however, that for the foreseeable future, the majority of products we see in the X-wing line will be related to Rebels or the new films.

Its the one 'eu' ship i'd really like to see.
You can stick your mist hunters and jumpmasters tbh... (i mean i'll get one of each but...) , i want a gunboat!
I think they fit the lambda aesthetic and would make a great list with two escorting a shuttle

Edited by FFGEvanIf someone had shown me a pic of the K-Wing this time last year and suggested it would be awesome in X-Wing, I would only just have finished belly laughing a week or two ago.
In terms of aesthetics, the XG1's main redeeming feature is that it isn't as ugly as the K-Wing ..... which isn't saying much.
But as it turns out - ugly tree dweller or not, the K-Wing is pretty darned fantastic - so I don't doubt that FFG could do a bang up job of making a great ship out of the XG-1 in spite it's rather lumpen design.
Still don't wish for it - but if it comes it will doubtless be excellent
