Bounty Hunter Supplement?

By RicoD, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

If it hasn't been announced, there's no chance of it showing up just for GenCon. FFG GenCon releases are products that were air-shipped rather than slow-boated, so you can buy it 1 - 3 months ahead of general retail release.

I'd wager a handful of credits that Bounty Hunter is the most played career in this game worldwide.

I would honestly be really really interested in that statistic, I think bounty hunter might be among the leading groups, but a smuggler is probably more common since most groups need at least one pilot.

The general consensus was since back when the first supplements came out that bounty hunter will be the last one for marketing reasons. Same reason for Force and Destiny being the last book to release shortly before ep7. I'm curious what AoR class and F&D classes will be last.

For AOR I'm betting Spy. No clue for FAD

I think we'll get Spy's sooner than we think. If FFG is smart they'll release the Spy book in Dec so they can leach off of Rebel One since that movie is ripe for a spy mission. I think Solider will be last.

I'm actually thinking Soldier will be next.

We're getting Special Modifications in March, so doing the Engineer right afterwards would be somewhat redundant (I know they're separate lines, but still). We also haven't had a truly combat focused spec book come out since the Ace, and AoR is the line most focused on combat.

Since we're most likely down between the Spy and the Soldier, I think Soldier is the more likely one for them to pick.

I don't know what will be next, but if they announce something beginning of February, judging by how Special Modifications went from announcement to On the Boat in 2 months we will hopefully be getting a pretty steady stream of books all year long.

My guess for last career book in FaD is the Warrior one. Because that would surely include Vapaad as a 7th and last lightsaber form.

For AoR my guess is the Soldier, because there is no immediate need for new stuff to it, since most Soldier players can just take Specs from the Hired Gun career to flesh out their specialization as a Soldier. Wanna be a Sapper? Soldier - Commando, Demolitionist. Or maybe a heavy Weapons specialist? Soldier - Sharpshooter, Heavy.

And I highly doubt that Bounty Hunter is the most played career out there. Many players of mine during my 17 years as a Star Wars GM that have expressed interest in playing one, backed out, because the role doesn't seem team-oriented enough. Smugglers are high in course actually. I'd put my money on them!

Well i think that a scum and villany centered setting like Edge is particularly suited to playing a bounty hunter or a team of them. I mean no less than two adventures have a bounty as central reward. Mask of the Pirate queen can be considered a bounty adventure too i think.
