Poe with multiple focus

By csgoat, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Searched through the forums and haven't been able to find an answer, also, wasn't able to find this in a FAQ yet.

If Poe has access to multiple focus tokens, as with Kyle Katarn's transfer ability, would Poe be able to change more than one focus to a hit/evade?

Poe's ability is a binary condition. If he has a focus token he can change 1 focus result to a hit or evade. The number of tokens has no impact on his ability.

This.

Still can be good to pass him another though. Allows him to spend one in the usual fashion without switching his ability off for further die rolls that turn.

That is how I thought it should work and how I have been running him. Just thought it would make him broken if he could do it multiple times without actually spending the focus.

Well technically, Poe can use his ability multiple times during a round because it doesn't actually require him to spend the token to trigger. As long as he's got a token, he can change one, and only one focus result per opportunity. An opportunity is each time he attacks or each time he defends. If he was attacked by three TIE Fighters and had a focus token, he could change one focus result during each attack as long as he didn't spend the token.

There's no limit on how many times he can use his ability, only on the number of results he can change when he does use it, which is 1 result.

he rolls 3-4 red and 2-3 green dice each opportunity.

Given at his ps he will normally attack 1st it's a big choice if he rolls 2 or more eyeballs (use the focus and lose the ability for the rest of the round or wear the sub optimal modification with the possibility of gains later)
