More than 2 Players?

The only thing you're going to get out of another TFA core set, is more ships and generic pilots, more dice and another set of templates. Any of the unique pilots and upgrade, you've already got and you can only use one of anyway. And the same goes for the damage deck. You can only use one of those as well.

My advice: get an original core while they're still available and add to the options you have now.

I agree with your advice, but I feel compelled to say we don't have any reason to expect FFG to let the original Core Set to go out of print.

It may not go out of print any time soon, but we have seen availability to be an issue before. Not too long ago you couldn't get a Millennium Falcon anywhere in the world, while we waited for reprints. And if I recall, it turned into quite a long wait.

the cheaper mats are also mostly bad quality as the say in dutch goedkoop is duurkoop. free translation cheap buying is expensive buying

I have played larger games of between 4-8 players and it is super fun! When playing with 6-8 (if not playing epic) it helps to play a version of the furball rules.

You don't have to buy a playmat right away, any table or surface can be used for casual play .. when i started, we played on my drafting table (with a thin blanket over the table), and it is about 2.5' by 3.5' ... (And we learned the game with a couple ships each on a smaller oval coffee table)

Haven't played a three player game in awhile, but typically when we did, it was a two ship per person free for all at 100 points each ... This was after we had a few large ships tho .. and don't feel the need to hold to 100 points, you can do a three player 50 point each game as well...

In addition to home-brewed options, the IG-2000 expansion includes a three way scenario.

Thanks all for the advice

When I play we are often 4 players. So we decide to go with 150 pts per side and we split the squadrons into two. I think with this configuration it is better to expand a little bit the play area.

We had a lot of fun playing with a rebel squad of 2 A-wings and 2 B-wings again a TIE swarm + 1 TIE Bomber and 1 TIE interceptor. The match was very welle balanced.

Rebels win ! ;)
