First tournament, with dual aggressors, happy with the result

By drjkel, in X-Wing Battle Reports

I figured I may as well post what battle reports I can, though I'm not one to remember every move.

I used the list I discussed here, with no changes. I played some with my sons over the week, enough to realize I'm not used to making a large base ship dance around asteroids. It cost me early on, but I got the hang of it. Spoiler, I went 1-3, but I'm still very happy with it all.

First game was against 3 T-70: Poe, Ello, and Blue Ace

I hit a few asteroids, which didn't help, but they were flown very well. Blue Ace bought it, but so did my Aggressors. I think I managed a seismic on Blue Ace.

Second game was against 2 T-70 and a X-wing: Poe, Ello, and Biggs.

In this one, Biggs ended up often being the best target for me, which worked nicely. Allo stayed behind my prox mine carrying Aggressor and ate a hit-hit-crit mine very early, which doomed him. I then kept Poe in the crossfire. C lost 4 shields, which saved this from being a flawless win.

Third game was against Ten Numb, Keyan, and Wedge

I, and my Aggressors, hate Wedge. My opponent both flew very well and had very, very good dice rolls. I think I got Keyan either nearly dead or dead, but not much more. They once shared a seismic though, that was fun.

Fourth game was against Whisper, Soontir, and Scourge

All three of them were PS9, so I set up blind with a diagonal line of asteroids. Scourge was the easiest target, and I figured I didn't want another ship to worry about later on as I wasn't sure how quickly I could kill Soontir and Whisper. I engineered a bump to get Soontir to eat the seismic and got Scourge off the board by leveraging Advanced sensor to put the prox mine in the only possible path it had.

I lost, but Soontir was down to 1 hull and Whisper to 2, I'm very happy with that one. I engineered many bumps and danced very nicely between obstacles, even through a triangle or range 1 large asteroid (which is where both my bombs surprised my opponent).

I brought my 6 year old along and he loved it. We won acrylic evades, he got gifted a Falcon dice bag, and the organizer very nicely gave me an alt art Soontir card and cardboard piece.

So, finished 13 out of 15, but at least 3 of my opponents were heard saying "those IGs are so unpredictable," so I feel like I've done my job :) I'll need to think of a new list for the store tournament next month, playing purely for fun (and not for the win), it would feel inappropriate to just polish my use of the same list.
