Looking for Stats: Oldman Mace Windu

By kingpin000, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

Hi there,

I've found this fan art of an aged Mace Windu in the Clone Wars/Rebels-Style. Then I had the idea to let him appear as a NPC but not with his stats during his prime years/death. I am think about the following changes:

  • He neglected his Jedi training/lightsaber skills most of the time .
  • The injuries by Palpatine, Anakin and the defenestration took a big toll on his general health.
  • He wields a vibro-sword/ancient sword instead of a lightsaber.
  • Today he runs a small diner on a space station under the alias Sam Windu (like Ben Kenobi ;) )

Any ideas for his characteristics, talents, skills and force rating at this stage of his life? (Extra points for Sam Jackson references :D )

Thanks in Advance

It's your game but i can't see Mace Windu putting his lightsaber away and running a diner, be shaken/amnesiac about what happened for some years sure, but as soon as he became himself again he would try to kill Vader and/or Palpatine; he is a warrior of the light, a defender of justice and just dark enough to want vengeance for what Vader and Palpatine did on the Jedi Order.

By the way, why do you need his stats? Are the players going to fight him?

In my campaign Mace windup survived with one arm and with the help of Quinlan Voss saved 7 padawans and trained them secretly for 3 years. Then when one of the padawans fell to the Darkside and joined the Empire Mace sacrificed himself for the other padawans (minus one killed by the turned padawan) to get away with Voss.

Then the other 5 padawans secretly and without any Prestige helped forme the various resistances which eventually became the Alliance. Then one of the padawans grew up and had a kid who becomes a pilot in the Force Awakens resistance and just discovered his father was a padawan and helped fight the Empire

I am pretty sure he would be his character from Black Snake Moan at that point. At least in my mind I know that's who he would be. :)

Obi-Wan was also a warrior of the light, but he hid on Tattooine instead of hunting Vader. As I mentioned, by the injuries he couldn't keep up with Vader or Palpatine anymore. He runs the diner to cover his living expanses.

Maybe the first encounter starts with a misunderstanding... :P

Perhaps no stat lower than 3. At least 5 in stealth and any other skill that would allow him to hide. Also he might of at least done some meditation to focus on the stealthier side of the force.

Also he might be finding some force sensitives in his free time because, if the force sensitives are trained they might be able to fight off inquisitors. Or that's how I see it.

Sentinel: Shadow as a template, maybe?

You mean running a Dojo instead?

How about his "Shatterpoint" ability wouldn't work so well anymore because of the injuries?

Country to belief, I feel his stats would be fairly modest at this point. 2, 2, 2, 3, 3, 3 distribution, using ranks to season. I don't see him having a lightsaber at this point and in all honesty I don't think he would actively partake in war after the era; the physical pain and humiliation of failing to take down the biggest sith of all time must be soul destroying and this is to reflect the more somber man that he has become. At least from this image, I see him being fairly physically weakened after that fateful confrontation, no doubt made worse after the fall he suffered. Force rating 3 is probably appropriate; his training was all directed around physical ability and form from what I've observed and his maturity.

Instead, use ranks to dictate the skills that he's good with. 4 ranks with lightsaber, 3 in appropriate skill checks, season appropriately depending on what role this Mace would occupy within this particular era. For most regards he's an NPC that is highly skilled and educated enough to provide good advice, but as a person wouldn't really have it in him anymore to fight unless pressed or his soul was invigorated.

I could see Mace having a 4 in willpower. He's notoriously steadfast and stubborn. In legends, he also practices a lightsaber form that skirts the darkside, though he himself had never turned.

I wonder if he would have, if he'd gone with his full of emotion plan to strike Palpatine down. Or maybe he wouldn't have. He was pretty emotional there for a good reason.
