Best scale for an AT-AT
1/1 scale.
I came to make this post, but my work was already done.
This one seems like it might be a good placeholder. only 30 bucks on amazon.
Thoughts?
The Gozanti is 1/270 scale, the same as our small and large ship minis. Wookieepedia lists the AT-AT as 22.5 meters tall. After some math, the 1/270 size would be about 3 1/4 inches tall. So the scale is a little off, but it might look nice. The Amazon listing says its about 5 1/2 inches. That puts this model in the ballpark of 1/161 ish. However, once you get into such small measurements, the increments of scaling are so miniscule it's hardly relevant, even with something as massive as the AT-AT.
I say go for it.
I was under the impression that the gozanti was in the huge ship scale and not in the small ship scale?!? So, about 1/400.
Was the gozanti still small enough that they could use a 270 scale for the model?

Yes it was, it is the largest 1/270 ship they'll ever make however. Any bigger then the Gonz and it's too big for the scale.
But I think since they wanted to be able to attach Ties to it, they really wanted to stick with 1/270 or it would look wrong compared to the ties.

So for the guys who say "the essential guides aren't canon anymore" I took pictures from Battlefront and scaled the AT-AT from there.
It fits the old data with a height of around 20-22 meters.
This leads to another point. DICE messed up the scale of the fighters.

.... you do it yourself JBR7... you do it yourself....
I personally doubt that the AT-ACT would be "bigger" than an AT-AT... the Empire likes to reuse components ALOT so it makes more sense that it is the same chassis with a new cargo bay area, some reduced armament and there you go.

I know... right.
I'm betting we get a nice MOUSE Model for this baby soon.
NICE! did you really paint the orange on? or just accessory so you can change between at-at & at-act?
AT-AT from DeAgostini have 1/281 scale ,almost perfect but not precisely.
I have 3 of them and they look great .... 1/281 vs 1/270 you can't is close enough

No AT-AT was hurt in the making of the AT-ACT... just some orange cardboard added.

The cardboard buildings from the Dropzone commander sets are an acceptable size for X-Wing urban conflicts.

You guys know that there is also a wide assortment of 6mm scale units and terrain available as well, that actually IS the same scale as x-wing.

Onslaught miniatures has probably the best quality figs. He is specifically making proxies for Warhammer 40k armies.
Vanguard Miniatures in the UK is doing the same, but somewhat more generic and also very good.
Plasmablast games, I'm not sure if their web store is back up. They had some technical issues and have been unavailable fir a while, but they are supposed to be coming back.
Brigade models have both miniatures and buildings in 6mm. Some of their terrain us very well suited to desert/tatooine boards
Micro world games has some stuff.
There are others. Like RogueLeader says, just google "6mm sci fi miniatures" or something similar, that should bring up plenty.
You also might check out the "tactical command" forums

It's a forum dedicated to small scale wargames, particularly 6mm epic 40k, but any sub 28mm scale games are appropriate and welcome.
