I've heard it said before that you shouldn't be putting Engine Upgrade on the T-65s because the point cost is just too high. However, combined with BB-8, I am finding that getting to move out of arcs is a great benefit that exceeds regenerating with R2-D2. Am I being silly?

I LOVE engine upgrade on Luke! Wedge too. Is it 'competitive'? I don't know for sure, but **** can it be useful!

While being a point sink, the turn you choose to arcdodge bia bb-8 barrel roll and boost luke has no combat action, is not like soontir who gets a focus, carnor who denies enemy focus so they cannot defend or wedge who denies a defense die.

So Luke with engine cost a lot for its combat power. Thats why i would prefer wedge over him in that case.

Anyway I dont think the plan you are executing on a t-65 is silly tho, just that i would not do it on him.

Looks like a capable build to me. That's a very maneuverable Luke. You're not going to get many dice mods (Focus/Target Lock) if you're boosting a lot, but that should mean you're not getting shot at as much anyway, so it could work.

That's the accepted wisdom but I know plenty of people who have used EU on t65s and liked the results. Maneuvering is its own form of defense.

I would probably opt for lonewolf on luke though, maybe even PtL.

You could also simply go with bb8, LW, IA. I've used that build and liked it quite a bit. bb8 turns LW on a bit easier and makes luke really durable (like a tank variant of wedge).

If you want a resilient ship a fully decked Red Ace costs 3 points more than your Luke and he's a TANK.

Actually thinking about replacing Luke with Wedge but I'll have to find a point somewhere. I know Red Ace can be great, but I'm looking to add more offense after testing this. Luke did great, but time would be an issue in timed rounds.

Used to do it A LOT though, back when Whisper was queen but r3-a2 vi Luke with EU was the inevitable touch of death

Tried it with Wes; too frail. Stopped running him when I double stressed dash and slapped of his mod only to be one shot by naked dice
