VI Vader is there to deal with Poe, Whisper, and Fel. At least in my meta, it's a high PS meta. Turr isn't a good choice because he's out PS'd by the other Acrs which makes his ability all but moot. Plus if you get stressed, then you can't use his ability at all.

I see that you lost to a regen list, do you think it's due to the nature of high hull/regen or only unlucky? My local meta is shifting to high-hull rebel fleets (K-wings everywhere) and I have a feeling that it'll shut down a lot of our toolbox.

I ran a similar list, but instead of Vader I took Carnor jax. A pretty fun build but Carnor seemed to just... Die. Makes sense cuz he screws over everyone's day and I tend to fly him too aggressively. One of the matches I played in my store's store champ was against a Fat Han and Poe. Carnor went down early to a direct hit but Omega Leader and Wampa took on the duo and wiped them out

I think this list could handle brobots. Omega Leader shuts down all dice modifications so 1 IG wouldn't be able to use FCS, evade/focus tokens, and even autothrusters. It wouldn't be an easy fight, but I could see this list beating them.

only shuts it down against Omega Leader, not against every other ship in the list.

This list is badass I've played it. Better than the soontir version by a stretch. Its better against fragile aces then jousters with some beef, like the brobots. Not that it isn't capable of taking them, it is but 4 attack weaponry is whats needed IMO, or swarms maybe. Anything less just can't eliminate the threats in time.

Depending on what I'm flying of course, but generally I'd go:

OL (so he can't Juke) -> Vader (does the most damage) -> Wampa (dangerous but not as bad in the endgame -> Shuttle.

My variant for the list is this:

I know Juke + Comm Relay is really strong in general and killer for OL. Still, Ps10 can be very useful also.

It reduces the overall damage too much for my taste though.

Yeah, PS10 OL is nice, but it suffers from two dice with no way to mitigate that. Juke is great for mitigating that.

It drops a bit in PS, but ZL's damage output is still solid and makes the shuttle that much tankier

Wampa is the softest target and can also be incredibly annoying so ya if I can do it quick, although it depends on what ships I'm running too. Some care much less about wampa. I've faced variations of this and I'm not sure theres a right answer, it really just depends.

I'll always take the chance to smash vader early and I'd rate him second softest with the highest damage output. And really OL is nasty too although he takes a few rounds to build steam.

Honestly I usually take the first ship I can focus on and then try and hunt it to extinction with the lambda usually being the target of opportunity. You really need to reduce the ship count asap to stand a chance here. Its like a more lethal mini swarm in many ways.

Just the other day I sent N'dru after the shuttle with clusters. He survived a strike from vader and did 6 damage to the shuttle. At that point kavil and guri both shifted focus and eliminated palp. I will say that barring some misplay or luck I usually find OL is the hardest to get rid of. Disgusting lil bugger.. I love him.

It's a solid list and you gain EU which matters quite a bit at times. However I still say its not worth the trade off. Vader can function with just BR but OL is reduced to meh. Its the combo of comms + juke that really makes him a threat, and in addition hes more durable. One will take 2-3 chuncks a turn from you the other is a wet noodle you can ignore.

So after starting this topic a while back, I was finally able to actually fly the list for the first time. Unfortunately stuff had prevented me from getting any practice games in, so my practice was also Round 1 of a 24 player Store Champ.

I really enjoyed the list, and it was the first competitive list I enjoyed flying for the first time in a while. I finished 2-3 and 14th in the end. Two of my losses were down to stupid and sloppy mistakes that I'm quite frustrated with.

The first, was in the first round, against Brobots. It came down to my full health Vader, vs IG-B with 2 hull remaining. I had a target lock on it, and had chasing position, and so was able to have ATC + focus & evade every combat.

I snatched defeat from the jaws of victory! There was one planning phase, were the IG was position, I thought his only real option was to turn into the centre of map. I knew a 1 bank would be too slow and bump into the back of the IG. A fast turn or bank would have bumped/put me in front of it. So I did the 4K. Such a bad decision. But he'd actually slooped the other direction, which gave him chasing position on a stressed Vader, just out of Range 1, so he could fire his HLC too. From there it took one more combat and Vader was toast.

In round 3, I came up against Boba Fett and 3x Black Sq w/ Crackshot.

I had killed 2 of the TIEs and had half points for Fett. He had killed Palp only. So I was winning 57-29. The game was going to time, and I should have just ran away with Vader for his last move, but I didn't realise that time was about to be called, so couldn't change my dial. Vader died to Fett and I lost 57-60. Frustrating!

At first I was going to fly this list but then I saw the variant someone suggested to have Carnor Jax and Lieutenant Colzet instead of Vader and Omega Leader - and boy did it pay out.

Carnor Jax caught every single list - I always had a perfect opportunity to deny focus/evade action and usage.

Colzet won me a game with "Easy Mode" written all over it: Wampa shot a face down card on a full shield Firespray, Colzet flipped it into Blinded Pilot.. soooo every single turn I kept flipping it back up and denied the firespray any possible attacks for the entire game until the 2nd firespray had been dealt with (which happened due to Carnor Jax denying its Evade Token after I had boosted into the right spot)

I went 100-0 against Brobots

31-52 against a similar list: Vader + Palp + Scourge + Wampa - I did a really dumb mistake early on that I had to work to try to get out of and managed only a small defeat so I wasn't too unhappy with it!

100-0 against Scum Boba + Kath (the blinded firespray was a really mean random trick)

100-14 against Miranda + Poe + Stress Y Wing (I got Poe within range 1 of Carnor so no focus on it, he couldn't evade, cold dice, while mine were hot~ Carnor put 4 damage on it, wampa did his wampa thing and palp shuttle finished it

Top 4 Cut saw me go up against another brobot - one I hadn't faced but I managed to pull through, I believe I lost Wampa and Colzet? I forget its been a while so lets go with that - 100-37

Final table: 4 TLTs, Unhinged.. Of course ... But hey, I rekt it pretty well, Palp shuttle even took down one of em from full to dead~ Lost Colzet and Wampa again but that didn't matter, they had already done more than enough to secure my victory and Carnor Jax was the MVP of the tournament. Also my first round of defending against the 4 TLTs saw me evading like never before~ which probably contributed a lot to staying in the match by getting rid of one pretty fast.. (:

Wave 8 is gonna change how this list plays though so I'm glad I was able to run it in one tournament and come out on top (which was also my only practice with the list, though I had already been playing doomshuttle + redline + colzet + academy pilot before Gozanti was available, which definitely helped in knowing how to maneuver).

Personally,I've ditched Omega Leader for Zeta Leader with Wired - yes, OL's strong 1v1, but ZL can roll 3-4 dice with TL/Evade and act as though he has a constant Focus for the 'small' price of adding an extra die of damage. He also comes at 21 when equipped to OL+Comm Relay+Juke at 26 - that extra five points added up to an EU on Vader.

What do you run on Colzet and Jax?

Stealth Device (which definitely served as a deterrent), PTL, Royal Guard, Auto Thrusters

Update: Took my list to another store championship with 66 players. Was 4-0 until bad dice luck hit me and I finished 4-2. I'm thinking of tweeking my list to:

Soontir- PTL, AT, (Targeting Comp: optional)

Wampa

Colzet- FCS, title

OGP- Palpatine

98 points if I don't include Targeting Computer. Wampa and Colzet is straight up nasty if Wampa's ability procs. I know a lot of ppl run Accuracy Corrector on Colzet, but FCS synergizes more with his ability. Colzet can't typically target lock an Ace in the 1st round of shooting, but FCS all but guarantees the lock.

So it seems like the core of this list is

Omicron Group Pilot with Palpatine

Wampa

At 43 points, that still leaves 57 to play with, you'd think there'd be more room than that!

Colzet's interaction with Wampa is also very interesting, and very threatening. This is the list I'm thinking about now:

Lt. Colzet + title, ATC

Juno Eclipse + title, ATC

I'm really missing Engine Upgrade on my Lambda - the Lambda dial is so bad that it gets one or two shots a game, and often gets tailed and shot to death. While it hurts to not have an actual Ace on the list, I think that Juno's surprising maneuverability will help compensate somewhat for that - if I could, I'd love to try and fit VI on her but it'd involve sacrificing ATC on one of the ships. Maybe put FCS on Colzet instead for the ability to constantly reacquire spent TLs while still being able to take other actions?

It feels a little "all your eggs in one basket" but Wampa IS pretty hard to kill before it gets at least one or two shots off, Hell, in a game last night he got off three shots, two of them on Soontir! Those tight 1 turns were super-handy.

ATC makes Colzet hit harder, Accuracy Corrector makes him ignore modifiers and only care about who he wants to TL each turn to spend his ability on. (TL someone out of arc and flip an important crit back up like.. oh say Blinded Pilot? )

FCS is a bad choice on Colzet.
