Merc's gunna give it to ya (maybe)

By Rogue Dakotan, in Imperial Assault Skirmish

Ok I tried this today and am feeling pretty good about it. I really need to lock down a command deck for it.

Thoughts?

I'm thinking I could maybe change out the tuskens for another Elite Hired gun group. But the Tuskens seem to be pulling their weight.

Command Deck:

Take it Down
Mandalorian Tactics
Dirty Trick
Take Initiative
Rally
Fleet Footed
Hit and Run
Field Tactician
Negation
Stealth Tactics
Single Purpose
Element of Surprise
Hunter Protocol
Urgency
Recovery

EDIT: rebuilt the command deck.

after getting some feedback from the Vader's Finest guys, I've rebuilt my list again. :P

Which do you prefer?

They had suggested using a regular Tusken group instead of Hired Guns, but I just don't trust regular Tuskens. Hired Guns get the 5 speed that I need to snag terminals right away and help with missions like Reprogrammed and Battlefield Engineering.

Devious Sceme is also a must for me for Reprogrammed. There's that one remote that's in the middle of the map. On my first turn I can get Boba there and retrieve it. So if I have initiative on the 2nd round, I can fly him to safety with the remote before the other team can touch it. Devious Scheme pretty much assures me that I'll get that middle remote in the Reprogrammed mission.

What zones do you choose on the other maps?

I really need to get some games under the belt with the HKs because that second list looks a bit squishy in theory, but maybe it ain't. I'd strongly consider going back to the Tuskens, and then add perhaps Last Resort? Could be interesting with Tuskens with it, to get up close and if they kill you, they explode, dealing even more damage to the secondary target.

Or maybe just straight up an eWampa for some real blocking value and damage soaking.

Looking at these lists, I have a lot to learn in regards to list building

I just feel like you have massively squishy guys with lots of attack dice, a group of glass cannons. If a Royal guard closes the gap to you, it's going to end your attack line in a hurry.

Would replacing a group of HKs with an Elite Wampa solve some of the squishiness issue?

Yes, for sure. It would also solve your problem of not having a front line to screen the HKs

Well now the question is:

Boba
Gideon
3PO
Temp
HK

eWampa

Hired Guns
Devious Scheme

OR

Boba

Gideon

Temp

eHK

eWampa

Hired Guns

Well now the question is:

Boba

Gideon

3PO

Temp

HK

eWampa

Hired Guns

Devious Scheme

OR

Boba

Gideon

eHK

eWampa

Hired Guns

I'd go with Threepio. Goldenrod can help protect the HKs and keep them focused, and you don't have enough close range fighters to clog up the board to the point that Priority Target becomes necessary. More activations, more HP, more dice and you can get a Focus on Wampa more easily and that's just awesome :D
