Not sure what I think of this but I'm going to take it for a spin at the friendly local game store tonight...

Thoughts?

Nice. I think I would prefer Zeta Leader w/ predator over Omega Ace (his ability just seems meh to me, YMMV).

Sounds fun. But I've reached my quota of 'likes' today. :(

I had the same opinion on Omega Ace until I, for fun, decided to just give him a shot. After trying him I discovered how much fun he can really be (until Jax gets to range 1, you have to attack dark curse, or Omega Leader leader has you target locked).

Last night I flew against two lists, the effectiveness was limited by the upgrades available to my opponent based on the expansion packs he owned (he does not have access to autothrusters, for instance):

- List 1 -

Soontir Fel

Push the Limit

Royal Guard Title

Shield Upgrade

Stealth Device

Connor Jax

Outmaneuver

Royal Guard Title

Hull Upgrade

Shield Upgrade

Omega Leader

Juke

Against this list the above (list I first posted) tabled my opponent quickly without loosing a single ship. Have no stress tokens on interceptors made it extremely easy to maneuver to cause Soontir Fel to crash, he died in the first round of combat. I was then able to quickly corner Connor Jax and cause him to crash without actions, he died to a Range 2 fully modified (double {kaboom}) attack from Omega Ace.

- List 2 -

Soontir Fel

Push the Limit

Royal Guard Title

Shield Upgrade

Stealth Device

Connor Jax

Outmaneuver

Royal Guard Title

Hull Upgrade

Shield Upgrade

Winged Gundark
Academy Pilot

Against this list the above (list I first posted) tabled my opponent but saw the death of Epsilon Leader. Again I was able to severly hinder the effectiveness of Soontir Fel and Connor Jax by action blocking with my stress-free Royal Guard Pilots. This match took a lot longer as I cut down Winged Gundark and the Academy Pilot, proceeded to lose Epsilon Leader, and eliminated Connor Jax when he forwent modifiers in order to boost into range 1 to block my PTL Royal Guard Pilot from using his evade or focus tokens (Jax rolled 1 {kaboom} to 3 natural {squiggly}s and then rolled zero {squiggly}s against two natural {booms} and one natural {kaboom}, having already suffered 2 damage he was overkilled.). We then proceeded to play a game of ring-around-the-asteroid as Soontir chased Omega Ace with green hard 2's for five turns before my royal guards finally put an end to that.

In both games there was some extremely lucky, to my advantage, dice rolls (natural 4 {boom}s vs 1 to zero {squigly} results) that really helped dominate, additionally if Autothrusters had been available to my opponent it would've saved both his interceptors on several occasions). All things considered, I am pleased with the above squadron but would still be very hesitant to fly it in a store championship match. So back to the drawing board, first store championship I'm participating in is this Sunday so....plenty of time right?
