Deci Whisper vs the Meta

How would this RAC Whisper list hold up?

RAC - VI, Mara Jade, Gunner, EU

Whisper - VI, SJ, ACD

Thinking of taking this to a SC where I know I will be facing a TLT spam and a bunch of Poes.

I feel like Whisper needs Rebel Captive to make the stress hurt more, but I also feel like losing the gunner would hurt RAC very bad offensively. I know a lot of people recommend FCS on Whisper but the SJ does wonders on TLTs.

Thoughts and suggestions please????

Drop the Emperor's Hand in favour of the Dark Lord himself.

Whisper doesn't need SJ in a list like this. If the TLT are being used on Whisper, silently thank your opponent for leaving RAC unmolested so he can zoom into R1 and start painting more y-wing silhouettes on his hull.

Edit: in case it wasn't clear, here's the list I mean:

RAC w/ VI, vader, gunner & engine = 59

Whisper w/ VI, intel agent, FCS & ACD = 40

99

You could also drop the intel agent for agent kallus, but the intel agent is absolute money against anything with higher Pilot Skill that moves after whisper (the stuff that usually kills her). Its worthless against everything else, but you don't need anything to kill such chaff, so it works out ;)

I love phantoms, Whisper especially. Despite everyone telling me "buzzsaw fantoms win" I can't not fly with Rebel Captive. If ships are maneuvered into a bad spot Poe, shooting at ps 10, may shoot someone less important if it means he wont have a stress next turn. The number of times whisper makes it to the end game mostly helped by players choosing to avoid giving themselves a stress has made it an auto-include for my solo phantom lists.

Personally in todays Meta i feel the use of palpatine cant go underestimated.

I love rebel captive on Whisper. But in this particular list, not necessary. Your opponent has to kill RAC before he ***** their list, so Whisper is not as much of a priority target...

i will agree, but with PS 10 and large base ship EU i will say if not prepared for correctly the Decimator can be a tricky little large minx to pin down.

Works pretty well, RAC's objective is to burn the highest PS Ace/Phantom counter before dying, while Whisper cleans up the board.

Having just played a few games with:

RAC - Vader, Palpatine, Engine Upgrade, and Vet Instincts.

Soontir - AutoThrusters, Stealth Device, Royal Guard and Push the Limit.

The Decimator is almost as manoeuvrable as an Interceptor with the EU, it's truly impressive. With Palpatine and RAC you often get 2 Crits and a Hit or 2 Crits and 2 Hits at range 1, it's BRUTAL.

Fly it like an Interceptor and you'll be golden, plus you can dodge arcs and your turreted weapon lets you shoot all over the place.

I'm seriously considering swapping VI for Ruthlessness just to up the damage output on Swarms and to save "wasting" a very reliable damage output on enemy ships with a single remaining hull point.
