Deathrain and Vessery, Still Traps

Vessery is probably my 2nd favorite trap ship(Tychu is still 1st). Ves is a ship I love but can't seem to build out right. I think I solved some meta problems for this squad with upgrades, and there is a respectable 19 hull and shields here.

If I pick up 2 points I could possibly run Omega leader instead of the zeta squadie, but I feel pretty safe carrying an evade a target locking for vessery on a FO.

I'd agree. TIE Bombers and TIE/fo Fighters are the two natural pairings for Vessery - cheap enough to be expendable, lightly armed enough that you're not wasting much if you end up target locking Vessery's target instead of theirs (if they're not the same) and tough enough that your opponent probably won't be able to remove them before the Colonel shoots.

I'm not sure about the homing missiles on Deathrain, to be honest. For the same price, you could pack advanced sensors (or enhanced scopes) and another (pair of) bomb(s), which probably suits his pilot ability better.

Seismic Charge is great on Deathrain for the free barrel roll when you reveal your maneuver alone.

I like your deathrain build personally, although if you can then add LRS. Either way the homers solves DRs issue of just being an 'answer' ship at a relatively high investment.

I've ran just about every configuration of DR imaginable and IME the systems while cool are not necessary. Lately I have been running flechettes but I think homers might be the better option considering the latest spoilers.

Vessery where I'm at would be /D over missiles but then I'm assuming you aren't using unreleased content. In this case I'd probably lose the missiles to upgrade that FO to a named pilot, either OL or ZL. Another option at least for the future would be to squeeze either the tie bomber shuttle or a lambda.
