What content would you like to see?

Hi all,

I have been busy trying to put some X-Wing content out, but I did test stream some IA Skirmish games whilst trying out the new map.

Anyway,

What type of content would you guys like to see and in what format?

Vlogs, live stream, text, photos, painting guides, podcast?

Let me know and I will see what I can work in.

Kris

Skirmish games are more interesting to watch than Campaign for certain, but even squad formation vids, or reviews of the packs, or things like that. As a beginning player, finding any content on the game, as opposed to painting, is challenging. I like the skirmish vids with good commentary for beginners, ala Team Covenant, but besides them, there's not much.

I don't want to seem rude or picky, but this is just what I'd honestly like to see when it comes to videos:

1) Games with real painted figures, on real tiled maps.

2) Games where the board takes up the majority of the screen, not arms, guts, bald spots, or soda cans.

3) Clear audio with as little dead air as possible.

4) Somewhere on the screen that shows the score or what round we're in, and a clear shot of the dice rolls.

5) A quick intro and post-game discussion.

Team Covenant does a great job. They do a good job showing the dice and the score; I want to see the dice not hear someone tell me about the blurry green and blue dots on the screen. Playing a game and then doing commentary over the top of it is awesome as well. I haven't seen anyone use all painted figures in a video, it would be awesome (especially if you edited the video and had close up shots during the game). You'd probably get more views if it was a skirmish, but if you did all of the above I think you'd still do great even with campaign games.

This is what I am putting out for X-Wing and the standard I would be aiming at for IA.

If there is an audience for it.

I would definitely watch skirmish coverage presented in that style.

I'd be eager to watch good video TRs for Skirmish, especially with some competent commentary. You don't need to be Paul Heaver, but someone who knows the game and skirmish enough to guide the viewer in the different strategies employed. I don't get to play as much skirmish as I would like, so this is the next best thing.

I don't really like live streams. They tend to be long, with a lot of downtime (perhaps not from tournament games though). I prefer edited with commentary to get a nice crisp experience as a viewer. Obviously that is also a lot of additional work.

The Video for X-Wing above is a very lightly edited version of what we put out live.

I am aiming to have an indistinguishable quality in the production of both my live content and the direct to youtube content.

The Live stuff is going to be mainly constricted to the Monday Night Gaming show I will be producing for The Sentry Box, whilst the other content, be they write articles, video reviews or whatever will be split between my personal Blog/Channel and will be used as additional content for the Live Show that I cut to in-between games and interviews.

Have you done any of this stuff yet? I'm really feeling the itch to make a 10 minute or less intro to skirmish for people to send their friends to. I'd hate to recreate the wheel if it exists/do it if someone else can do it way better.

Videos of specific squads or lists and step by step guides with examples of how to make the best use of the units and movements. Don't even need to see Skirmish play, just some separate strategies for different units and lists.

There Content is all started but I am waiting on my website redesign to be finished so that it all ties together.

Good thinks come to those who wait.

As an aside, the next Monday Night Gaming show that I am doing on Twitch is going to feature the new Leia Map with us playing both missions on it.
