Poe & Weapons Guidance

Just checking to be 100% sure.

Poe's ability: While attacking or defending, if you have a focus token, you may change 1 of your [focus] results to a [hit] or [evade] result

Weapons Guidance: When attacking, you may spend a focus token to change 1 of your blank results to a [hit] result.

Poe rolls three attack dice with the following results:

blank, blank, focus

He could use his pilot ability to turn the focus into a [hit] without spending the focus.

He could then spend the focus token to turn one of the blanks into a [hit].

His final outcome would be:

blank, [hit], [hit]

Am I figuring this correctly?

yes

With the same thread title, even! (c:

What if Poe had two focus tokens? Can he spend both to turn two blanks into hits in the same attack?

What if Poe had two focus tokens? Can he spend both to turn two blanks into hits in the same attack?

No, the Once Per Opportunity rule forbids this. You can only use Weapons Guidance once per opportunity you have to do so, so if you'd rolled two blanks and had two focus tokens, you could only change one of the blanks to a boom.

However, if you had rolled a blank and two eyes, you could for instance spend one focus with WG to turn the blank to a boom, Poe's ability to turn one of the eyes to a boom, and the second focus to turn the other. You can use the two focus tokens for different things, but not for the same thing unless the thing specifically allows you to spend multiple tokens at once.
