I want to get serious about competing, so what is the most cost effective way to go?

By LukeAtThatSpeed, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I am liking the prospect of a Dash + Corran list, but hate that the cards I need to flesh it out are scattered across several expansions, so what is a cost effective way to get what I need to make a good Dash + Corran list?

Try:

Dash

-Wired

-HLC

-title

-Leebo

-Experimental Interface

Corran

-VI

-R2-D2

-well fcs would fit best here

That leaves you with 4 free points for some modification, and dash works almost like normal super dash (sligtly different activation of second action+second action needs to be boost+that ion) but for this one you need only YT-2400,Ewing both cores and a Bwing/Phantom for FCS.

Be adviced: i designed this dash build for slightly differend squadron (second ship was tanky chewie) and have NO idea how its gonna work here:P

look up Han Sold First. and get the xws code from a squad builder and put it in and it will tell the cheapest way to get what you need to build that squad

Try:

Dash

-Wired <-- EWW!

-HLC

Really? I'm surprised to see Wired mentioned, has it worked for you? Everyone I know who's tried it has been nothing but disappointed...

I tried to build something as close to normal super dash as possible, while trying to cheat few points for c3po. Suprisingly yes, Wired is decent here, of course not AS good as normal focus but as you are stressed anyway from double acting and rarely focused (barrel or TL usually), that reroll is not bad at all.

thanks, I already have a b-wing, so it would just be getting the YT2400 and an E-wing then?

I've seen this build do well:

Dash Rendar (36)

Veteran Instincts (1)

Heavy Laser Cannon (7)

"Leebo" (2)

Outrider (5)

Corran Horn (35)

Push the Limit (3)

Advanced Sensors (3)

R2-D2 (4)

Engine Upgrade (4)

Total: 100

The cheapest way to get this list would be to get these expansions :

YT-2400 (Dash, HLC, Leebo, Outrider

E-Wing (Corran, Advanced Sensors)

YT-1300 (Engine Upgrade, VI)

Original Core Set (R2-D2)

A-Wing (PTL)

What expansions/sets do you already have? We might be able to build something competitive without too much effort.

I'd start thinking about 2 ship lists and going from there. On average, large ships cost about double that of small ships in terms of money.

"Bro-bots" (aka Aggressors aka IG-2000's) have an excellent expansion that comes with ALMOST everything you need just out of the package. However, at least the "System" slot needs upgrading because the one it comes with is not very effective on it. The expansion also comes with no "Modification" cards at all. A single "StarViper" expansion can get you BOTH the "Autothruster" modifications you want (especially since they are VERY expensive to buy individually online). At that point, you'd need only your choice of 2 "Fire Control System" cards OR "Advanced Sensor" cards.

What you have here is a VERY complete package for ~$55 from Coolstuffinc that allows you to experiment with multiple combinations of viable pilots, is competitive, and is most importantly fun to fly. This only does not include the system cards you may need. It is suggested, however, that you fill up your cart to $100 so you qualify for free shipping since their shipping is on the pricey side. If you can't think of what to put in your cart, you can think ahead and buy board game gifts for people (birthday, Christmas, etc.), splurge yourself, or buy other accessories like card sleeves or mats.

An alternative to two IG-2000's would be to swap one of them for a Slave 1 (aka Firespray). You'd also get "Heavy Laser Cannon" which is really useful. The catch here is that you'd need to get the conversion dial separately either via buying the "Most Wanted" expansion ($25 on Coolstuffinc, retail $40) or buying it by itself online for about $4-10.

EDIT: Oops! I forgot you wanted a Dash + Corran list. Oh, well. This gives you a viable alternative!

It's Han Shopped First, and it's here http://randolphw.github.io/han-shopped-first/

I finished 2nd in a 24 participants tournament in Lisbon, Portugal with the following Dash+Coran List:

Dash Rendar + Heavy Laser Cannon + Lone Wolf + Engine Upgrade + Outrider + Recon Specialist

Corran Horn + Veteran Instincts + R2-D2 + Fire-Control System

Total: 99

So for that list he would need to buy e-wing, falcon, 2400, and a hawk; assuming he already owns an original core set

here is what I own:

both core sets

A-wing

B-wing

TIE advanced

TIE Bomber

So all of this is just me being curious and seeking info from those in the know, thanks for all your input, it's really helpful

This is all I got. Not bad considering your options. Should at least be fun.

Poe Dameron [bB-8] (33)

Luke Skywalker [R2-D2] (32)

Tycho Celchu [Assault Missiles, Push the Limit] (34)

my Dash and Corran expansions will be here by week's end

Only time I feel wired is worth taking is on my stressed out a wings. NEVER disappoints.

Why not use Lando?

Maybe cause crew slot is taken up by leebo in the first place?
