ASBs vs. IT-70s

By Jturn314, in X-Wing Squad Lists

So I was thinking. I love Advance Sensor B-wings. I love Integrated T-70s. They're both great ships, for all the right reasons. They punch hard, last long enough to help, and are very maneuverable. But which is better to take one pair of?

Here's what I'm messing around with-

LT Blount- Crackshot, Munition of choice (Here to turn off Stealth devices, block, etc.)

Stresshog- TLT, R3-A2, Title (we all know what he's there for)

Then a pair of ASBs or IT-70s. Any thoughts?

Why not go with 1 of each? Blue or Dagger w/ advanced sensors and a Blue Novice with R2 + integrated astro. Or Targeting Astro (and integrated) + Flechette torp if you just can't get enough stress...

I did think of that, but thought that since they'll be flying as a pair it might be better for them to have the same dial... Or no? Also, I thought about an IA Biggs beside an ASB but he wouldn't really be protecting anything important enough to be worth the points..

Well, its true their dials don't match entirely, but it gives you options. For example, T-70 can rush out in front, maybe even use its boost for a surprise block. B-wing wants to keep the enemy in close so by being a bit back can maybe block k-turns and force the enemy to stay in front of it longer...

I was thinking of running 2 blues w/ advanced sensors and 2 blue novices w/ R2 + integrated. Haven't done it yet, but I think it would do fine. I was considering it as an alternative to buying 4 T-70s because I'm not sure I want that many at this point...

Yeah I also thought of that, and it seems like it would be solid. I'll play around with a mix and see how it turns out.

Not sure which is better since I just started delving into B wings, crazy as that sounds. I do know I've discovered PtL/adv sensor Bs are fantastic, EU keyan in particular.

Keyan is great, and there are many different ways to build him. Sadly there isn't room in what I'm trying to do to get him.
