Tractor Beam and Ruthlessness

By Nutter1557, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Hi everyone,

When does Ruthlessness trigger if i hit a ship for the first time in the round? Do i move the ship then measure for range 1, or do I measure from the original position of the ship?

To me, they both trigger at the same time, After the attach hits.

Thank you.

Tractor beam is stil in the attack phase, ruthlessness is after, so ruthlessness would be measured after you boost or barrel roll the ship.

I suspect the answer will show up in the FAQ once the Tractor Beam is available for use.

I suspect you're both right.

You know my statement will be true simply because this question exists and needs a solid answer. Darth Emphatic may have a good chance at being right and clarified in the FAQ but if that is not how it works it will probably be the FAQ that says how it is actually supposed to work.

I dont know why it would need an faq. It either works the way I stated or they happen simultaneously in which you get to pick which order they resolve.

It'll probably show up in the FAQ because there are similar things that wonder about the order of things and how a Tractor Beam can mess them up. The chances are high that you would be able to move the target before Ruthless starts measuring but you also have things like Tactician to consider plus various other in/out arc scenarios.
