First time poster, long time lurker...... :-)

I picked up a copy of the starter set for my 8 year old son, not only to get him interested in miniature gaming, but to get myself back into it after playing a great many Warhammer / Warmachine tournaments.

Since Christmas I've added a bunch of ships and spent way too much money and there is a tournament at a local store coming up. I've decided to enter to get some competitive games in rather than playing against my son / colleagues at work and am contemplating taknig the following:

Veteran Instincts (1)

Jake Farrell (28)

A-Wing Test Pilot (0)

Push The Limit (3)

Total = 100pts

I'm quite excited to get back into tournaments and seeing how other people fly their ships, but I was wondering if there was anything I could do to toughen up the list a bit?

I have the following sets: 2 x Strater Set, 1 x Force Awakens Set, 1 x Tie Fighter, 1 x Imperial Aces, 1 x Rebel Aces, 1 x Millennium Falcon, 1 x Slave-1, 1 x Starviper, 1 x Tie Phantom, 1 x Tie Bomber, 1 x Tie Interceptor, 1 x Lambda Shuttle, 1 x Tie Advanced, 1 x Tie Defender.

I would not put so many points on the b-wing. Its gonna die first, so keep it cheap.

Jake is a much harder target to kill, so give him some extra firepower with a proton rocket:

Poe (as above) = 38

Jake (as above, except proton rockets instead of refit) = 33

B-wing w/ E2 + tactician = 25

That's a real hefty initiative bid, so you can probably afford FCS on the b-wing, but you want some kind of bid for Jake----his job is a lot easier against other PS 9 ships when he gets to move last.

I think I'll add the FCS back to the B-Wing to provide a bit of action economy, hopefully the 2 pt initiative bid will be enough.

I think its solid.

Some will prefer 'stresshog' y-wing in place of the b-wing, but its good enough. Jake is key to victory----don't squander him! He can take out a problem enemy ship and make Poe's life easier in the endgame...
