Read some discussion about using TIE fighters to escort the Emperor (often using Wampa to benefit from his ability) - I wanted to try using TIE/fo fighters and see how the Eyepatch does compared to its predecessor.
- Colonel Jendon - ST-321, Reinforced Deflectors, Flechette Cannon, Emperor Palpatine
- Omega Ace - Push The Limit, Comms Relay, Stealth Device
- Omega Leader - Juke, Comms Relay, Stealth Device
One weakness of both Omega Ace and Omega Leader is that their pilot abilities trigger off Target Locks - and getting a target lock on someone with a higher pilot skill (a) isn't easy and (b) means using an action whilst within firing range for a purely offensive action - which means being shot at by higher pilot skill pilots when you've target locked instead of focusing. Comms Relay goes some way to mitigating this, but it's still not nice.
Jendon with ST-321 means that at least one, maybe both of the aces will come into the fight with target locks on the most dangerous opponent, which means on the opening pass, Omega Ace can have a target lock (from Jendon) and focus (from his action) and evade (from the comms relay). Which, combined with his stealth device, means it's highly unlikely that he'll be forced to spend that evade before it's his turn to shoot. If Omega Ace gets a lock too, he can avoid using Push The Limit in his first pass, which means he can more easily use a TIE/fo's crazy dial once things devolve into a knife fight.
Meanwhile, Jendon's Reinforced Deflectors make him a lot harder to hurt quickly than a normal shuttle, and the flechette cannon might inconvenience someone at a critical moment - but for 2 points, I don't really care if it doesn't.
