Defenders lose no damage but Jonas is there for more than just rerolls, with predator and the chimps he's got far more consistent damage from ordnance.

Used this twice tonight with great success.

That looks cool but I'd be worried about all of the unmodified attacks that the Defenders are making. I was looking at doing something similar with Fleet Officer Jonus but that puts him back to doing the same lackluster damage he did in the original Jonus Brothers.

It might be worth trying to get Jonus some Flechette Torpedoes to pair nicely with the Ions from the Defenders. You'd have to scrap the Plasma Torpedoes to fit them but would have the points for either a Homing Missile or Cluster Missiles.

The 4 dice at all rages with Guidance Chip and Predator is nice.

Kind of defeats the point of Jonus: all the ordnance is on him. The Defenders only get rerolls on the Ion Cannons which can only ever do one damage anyway. Jonus Brothers was about pseudo target locks on the Heavy Laser Cannons.

Now TIE/D and TIE/x7 are a thing you're probably better off with another TIE defender.

Too much loaded on Jonus. He will be targeted fast and killed. That and I don't think he will stick around the Tie Defenders long enough to be worth it. You are better off with Howlrunner or Jonus w/ crew.

the defenders are still do the same potential four damage you have rerolls for the Canon and focus for the primary.

Jonas is always the primary target anyway at least this way he does some damage first.

In the games I played so far I didn't lose a ship and I killed wedge and keyan by turn three leaving one ship versus my three, Jonas was on two hit points and neither defender had taken damage.

I think it can certainly work. However, I've been rocking all ion trips on VASSAL of late, and three ions, even without dice mods (because PS 1 means you often use focus for defense) have been really hard to deal with. Its still early to tell, but I feel this list is going to cause more grief and despair than even the dawn of the twin laser turret era...

The same for Proton Torpedoes. I guess it depends on your target (if they have shields or not).

Normally I don't like loading up CPT Jonus, but I do like this list.

Upcoming releases will be good for ordnance, Defenders and Bombers.

Chimps and more pilots will make the bomber worth taking once more which is brilliant.
