394 imperial list, could you some advice

So I am fairly new to Armada, only two games under my belt and I could use some advice and building a good list with what I have (being that after Christmas period funds are short), I do have a second VSD I could swap into the mix. any advice would be appreciated.

I think you will have a better time if you replace the vsd with an ISD2 with ECM and Gunnery teams.

For similar points you get a ship thats bigger, faster, hits harder, more maneuverable, stronger and has more leg room!

problem there is the massive point commitment for an ISD II, i'd love a raider or my fighters to pay for it

The Raiders with Ordnance experts works against each anti squadron roll and by golly you'll be getting 2 dmg on squadrons all the time.

I've found if the victory isn't perfectly positioned to begin a game it's too easily taken out of the fight by maneuvering of your opponent. It also takes too much fire trying to close on Ackbar ships with just speed 2.

I'm a fan of this, once I can afford an ISD ill probably do this, I was also thinking just for laughs use a Raider II with the overload pulse combined with an ISD or VSD

I'd drop the raiders for a VSD, just my preference though. Yes the VSDs are slow, however if flown well and having that gladiator on the flank...

While my raiders usually die, they like to take most of the enemy squadrons down with them
