Turning the Scum up to 11.

By WWHSD, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I posted this over on another thread but figured it belonged over here.

It's probably about as Scummy as you can get. Palob is a stress sponge that steals tokens and makes people spend them with his TLT. 4-LOM gets sensor Jammer to help make sure that Palob's victims have trouble hitting him and Bossk to get him target locks for next round if he misses. I dropped his PS to match Palob's in case I need to tractor something out of range 1 for Palob. Bossk is probably going to give 4-LOM a a focus too late in the round for him to use it, so Leechos can steal it for himself. The two Z-95s are pretty much Crackshot Kamakazis.

I like it minus the Feedback Arrays on the Z's. I think those 4 points could make N'dru more dangerous. I like the 4-Loam + Leech interaction if it indeed works out as useful

Feedback arrays never seem to work when I run them on Z95s. I'd swap them out for Glitterstim.

i like tactician on 4-LOM...range two stress with tactician and tractor beam...pull them into range one and shed a stress onto them

Where's 4-LOM getting his stress from? Part of the reason for Bossk was that it generates a stress when 4-LOM misses. If 4-LOM doesn't have an enemy in range 1 he'll dump it over on Palob if he can.

Without the Feedback Arrays I was still short the points for the N'Dru build that I liked. I figure if N'Dru lives to get his 3-4 dice shot with Crackshot off he's done his job and can lurk around being a guaranteed damage threat.

I would drop Kaa'To, he's not that great. Take a pirate, toss Clusters onto N'Dru, and watch him kill something.

I also feel like Sensor Jammer on a 1 Agility ship may be points better spent elsewhere.

Otherwise, looks like fun, 4 ship builds are nice, I might steal it with the changes I mentioned.

The four points saved on Feedback Arrays could be enough for a Cluster Missile or Concussion Missile on N'Dru (and Guidance Chimps). If you can keep him at Range 3 of the rest of your fleet while engaging, with Crackshot he could potentially erase an Ace from the board (or do serious damage to a fatty).

Just my two cents. N'Dru with a Missile, Crackshot and Chimps can be used like a scalpel.

I'm not a huge fan of Kaa'To normally but I figured that between the ability to take Crackshot and to put to use the focus token from Bossk he might just be worth it. I just reread his ability and realized that that won't even work. I thought he stole the token when he spent it but it's the start of the Combat phase. I'm not sure if he's worth it just to carry Crackshot.

The way I look at it, it's a one agility ship that can take the Evade action and will be getting shot by at least one target that probably doesn't have a focus token. Worse case scenario, it's probably going to be at least as good as a shield upgrade. I'm guessing it will probably save 3-4 points of damage per match, possibly more.

Ok, ditched Leechos and the Mist Hunter title. I think I'll miss the barrell-roll more than I will the Tractor Beam. I also switched up N'Dru so that he has one shot with serious firepower that will put a hurt on anything.

I'm rethinking Bossk as crew on 4-LOM now that I realized that he can't pitch the focus over to Leechos.

Hah, now I am going to give something similar a try.

4-LOM: Adaptability +1, Zuckuss, Sensor Jammer, Misthunter

N'Dru Suhlak: Homing Missile, Crackshot, Glitterstim, Guidance Chimps

Palob Godalhi: TLT, Tactician, Crackshot
Banana Pirate: nothin'

Plan is to flank N'Dru enough that he can punch any Ace that tries to get around in the face. Palob does scummy things to your tokens and applies 2 stress in his forward arc. 4-LOM makes life miserable by forcing rerolls and throwing stress. Banana Pirate causes traffic issues.

The best use I've found for Kaa'To is Bodyguard. It's almost never worth using his ability for himself, because it requires stealing a focus token off a friend. With a Moldy Crow Palob Godahli nearby, you might have a reliable source of 'spare' focus tokens for him, but nine times out of ten a focus token is worth more on the dude who generated it than on a PS5 Headhunter.

Bodyguard, though, lets you steal a focus token from a 'generic dude' and use it to give an ace +1 agility. When the ace is someone like Boba Fett, or Talonbane Cobra, who you're essentially trying to 'escort' across the range 2-3 dead zone into the region where their pilot abilities become lethal, that's not a bad deal; given that you're only paying 5 points more than you would have done for a generic Z-95.
