Show some love for WQACG

By guillaumetexas, in Warhammer Quest: The Adventure Card Game

Got the aforementioned game recently, played the tutorial, and stories 1 and 2, and I must say, I really enjoy the game.

I have played all three campaign of that other Adventure Card Game where you play as a Pathfinder ;) , and awkward card combos are therefore nothing new to me.

Regardless, I feel that WQACG is a lot more thematic than many other Adventuring card game. I especially like the constant threat of enemies, even when I try to Rest, that **** orc boy is hitting me. Love it.

We throw FFG plenty of flak when we have problems with games (often resolved by reading through the rulebooks mind you), so for once, those of you who like the game, let Adam and Brady Sadler know that they have done a great job of it.

Many thanks for a great game. Can't wait for expansions and new campaign settings (Chaos, Lizardmen, Undead, Elves...)

I love the game!

And I get the impression that a lot of buyers appreciate it highly. Indicative is the reactions and ratings on BoardgameGeek.

Furthermore sales apparently are splendid, since the game already is hard to get.

All 'n all encouraging developments which shout out: great game, we need expansions!!

I got the game just before xmas and went out of my way to find the devs and thank them. Too many people use the internet to complain, not nearly enough use it to praise.

Looking forward to the next Adventure!

Love it!!!! I was a fan of the original WH:Q and this has all the flavor in something portable that can be played in an hour!!

Now we need both more campaigns and a few one shots. Perhaps some one shots that say things like upgrade 1 action and take 1 random gear from the gear deck as part of set up.

I was going to like any game set in the Old World, but the thing I love about it is the complexity of the decisions resulting from the balancing of the individual actions. It's genius. For example, how you can attack the enemy in front of you, but it might be more advantageous to Aid another player, using the pushback on the Aid card to get that monster back into the shadows instead - maybe meaning you don't have to fight it at all if you can explore and travel instead. Typically in co-op games there's either one person directing the strategy, or the best option is obvious, but I've found that when you get into the end of a quest and are really up against it, the right option results from really digging into and discussing the potential combinations of actions.

Played 1 and 2, won both, but I'm kind of savouring this one, waiting on the first expansion, so not in a rush to finish the campaign.

This game is simply excellent in every way.

This ended up being an impulse buy for me but I'm really glad I pulled the trigger. My wife and I enjoy it alot. It has created a little bit of Adventure Card Game fever, though. We're eyeballing Pathfinder and Shadowrun Crossfire. With that said, it doesn't look like either would be quite as fun as WHQ. Hard to say. Reviews on both are pretty mixed. What would solve this conundrum is the announcement of an expansion. Let's have it, FFGee :)

Shadowrun crossfire is an excellent game but has a completely different feel from WH:QACG the core game us about adding cards to a starting deck of crap to defeat the enemies (and the deck resets every game). However you do get xp and a character sheet that you can buy stickers for with your xp to make your char better.

Another worth looking into is legendary. That works like shadowrun per game but has quests (at least in the Alien version). That comes in Alien (as in the movies), predator and superheros/villany flavors.

I picked this up at the weekend (to support my new local* game store and cafe). I've only played the learning quest so far, solo, but I enjoyed it very much. I'm looking forward to delving deeper into the dungeon and playing it with some friends. And if we do get expansions, great.

I've got my ears to the ground for the Legendary: Firefly which I believe is supposed to come out this summer if the Internets are to be believed.

An absolutely awesome game which I hope gets expanded on for years to come, with both new heroes, and new quests.

I've already played this game more than I thought I would since I got it, and I'm looking forward to introducing it to more people! I feel that the balance in this game is carefully arranged, the replay value is impressive, and I never get tired of the art (though I don't know how much of it is exclusive to this game).

Thank you for making a game that offers interesting mechanical combinations and satisfies my nostalgia. It's also great that this game takes about as much time to play as the original board game took to set up, if you consider all of the table rolling and monster placement.

I'm already excited to see expansions!
