Most Wanted expansion

By TheGreatDanbino, in X-Wing

I've been looking for the Most Wanted expansion to X-Wing, but everywhere I look is out of stock. Does anybody know where I can find an available copy?

I don't know anyplace that has them currently, but they WILL be restocked eventually.

X-wing is such a popular game that FFG has difficulty meeting demand, but they reprint stuff as fast as they can. Don't be tempted to pay a fortune to some price gouger online. Be patient and sooner or later they will get restocked and you'll find them for normal prices.

There's a reason why it's called "Most Wanted"!

It's currently listed as "On The Boat" in the upcoming section, and Wave 8 is arriving in a couple of weeks - you might see a restock then with a bit of luck.

Have you tried a local Barnes & Noble. They were the go to place, but stock there is getting low too.

You can reserve them online, if your local store has it.

My shop owner says they have been on the boat for a while now, and should be getting them anyday.

You didn't say where you were, but I'm assuming you're not in the UK as there's still a few places here that have them in stock.

I would expect a re-stock to arrive pretty shortly - the status was recently updated (still on the boat - just a more recent date), but prior to that they were showing as On The Boat since the middle of October - so it's currently well outside the usual lead time of around 8 weeks.

I also recommend Barnes and Noble.I scooped two of them from the back of a bottom shelf

Is that why they were selling for like $80 on eBay? My FLGS still has plenty on the shelf...

Amazon UK has it. Or at least it had it an hour ago.

I live in Indiana. I didn't mention that because I've searched through all my local game stores lol. I knew they were out of stock, but I didn't know if there was a place online that might still have a few in stock. I didn't know Barnes and Noble carried X-Wing like that! I will check them out. I just figured there would be a few copies hanging around somewhere. Trust me I don't plan in buying it for more than what it's worth. Thanks though!

One dirty practice I've seen is for a place online to sell a box for an inflated price- while they're waiting to get restocked themselves. They're preying on inpatience while not actually getting anything to anyone faster. Don't fall for it!

That is dirty. I hope there is some form of vigilantly just happening to these people. or karma. or something, mabey a stubbed toe, I don't know

Free market.

Free market. New stock will show up in a month or two. Though Asmodee's policy changes will lead to fewer online products and higher prices anyway.

I went to my local game store today and turns out he was taking preorders for the Most Wanted expansion, and the new wave of ships coming out so it looks like I didn't have to wait long!

Update. Most wanted has apparently been updated to "shipping now", so new copies should hit store shelves in the next week or two.

When it comes to Amazon sellers, the truth is far less sinister.

Amazon apparently charge sellers for adding new listings - so instead of taking listings down when items go out of stock, then paying to relist them when the stock arrives, they'll just hike the price so no-one in their right mind would buy it.

Kind of related, don't listen to shop owners who don't know what they're talking about. One of the few stores local to me that sell X-Wing, once told me that a certain ship I was looking for (don't remember, this was a while ago), was now out of print, and wouldn't be re-released, so good luck in finding it. I told him that's unlikely, but he held his ground.Of course, he was talking crap and I didn't pay any attention. I simply went to another store and picked it up. Since then, I have noticed that they do get the ship in question in, so obviously either he was educated, of his boss clipped him around the ears and knocked some sense into him.

(in Australia, incidentally).

So that explains the $100+ listings for some video games I've seen.

Thanks for the tip! Just reserved one at a B&N not too far away.
