If we're daring people to do things let's just go all out and issue the 6 HWK challenge. Even better yet, 6 HWKs vs. 6 HWKs It might possibly be the one match more boring to watch than a 4 TLT Y-Wings mirror match.

150pt all basic TIE Academy mirror match. Bring 12 Academy per side, and watch people actually learn to hate the game while you watch.

First time I used a hwk, I thought the same thing, "Wow, this thing is a dog!".

Then came back with Kyle "flinging focus" Katarn and moldy crew + Jake in the A-wing.

and had that "ah-ha!" moment, well more of an..."ohhhhh, that's what they meant for this thing!"

The Hwk is good, the hwk is wise.

Having Jake barrel-roll then use PTL to boost at that the start of the combat phase is pretty sweet.

I don't think the HWK really needs a fix, but if it was going to get one maybe have instead of a title that adds +1 primary, maybe make it a modification instead. I have rarely seen anyone take hull, shield, or engine upgrade on it.

Nobody did, did they? They needed those "fixes" to be fielded. You could have added expensive modifications to help a bit but then it turned into a point sink. Now, generic Advanced with X1 and a system are useful. Now an Interceptor without EPT has a 2 point upgrade that gives it a chance to survive long enough to be useful.

The 16 point HWK isn't useful. Bump it to 20+ points and it can be good. But for 20+ a lot of things are good/better.

If it's meant to have upgrades then it compares to the bomber except the bomber has a better dial, more health, plus 1 attack and needed more options to be fielded yielding Imp Veterans with the TIE Shuttle among other new cards.

I like the 25 point TlT Recspec HWK. But I'd like more competitive options for the ship.

Eh I dunno. Roark is a great PSwinner. The Scum HWKS have the Biggs effect for me because they buff/debuff. HWKS can now sit in the back and poke away with the TLT.

They are solid performers. Any re balancing to them should be pretty subtle. The fact is though, they are very multipurpose, they aren't meant to be your primary damage dealer or tank.

As long as they do something that lets you drop one of the named HWKs on the table and use them as a support ship without pouring more points into them, I'd be happy with where the HWK is at.

I think HWKS are among that breed of ship that needs to be fielded with an upgrade. at LEAST Crew. No different to the Y-wing (come on, turretless y-wings, as if) These are a stark contrast to the Imperial all in one ships (surprisingly even the shuttle). This makes sense fluff wise, really. Buffing the primary attack would be nice, as there is no reason it should be only 1. but if you are flying an HWK and relying on your primary attack then you are probably doing something wrong.

In game terms the HWK reminds me a lot of the GR75. Now when I first got the GR75 I had no idea what to do with it.. what is this a ramship? No. It's pure support/ECM and it's great at it. I think the HWK has the same thing. If Roark means one of those B-wings shoots soontir first... especially THAT one with a mangler cannon.... well. Done Job.

Mesa Store Championship: 2 ICT HWKs, no crew. 4-1. Made cut (8th). Lost to top 4 in World's Phil Booth in the cut.

Tucson store championship: 2 ICT HWKs, no crew 3-1. 5th, missed cut by 1.

Local 20 man tourney yesterday: 3-1, came in 4th. Lost in the final.

(The 20 man tourney was a different list, but also with 2 ICT HWKs)

I ran 3 HWKs with ICT in the Regionals last year in Mesa and San Diego last year (4-2 - lost to Richard Hsu at 4-0 who went on to win the tourney in a very close match). Went 5-1 in San Diego, 10th place (cut to 8).

I love the HWK. It doesn't even need a TLT. It isn't an easy ship to fly, and my only issue thus far has been my MOV hasn't been able to carry flying HWKs. That is a personal problem that I hope to fix moving forward.

Because of Roark, and an HLC B-Wing, I was able to pull a PS12 one-shot against an uncloaked Whisper when my opponent had a brainfreeze and forgot Roark was still on the table.

My favourite Scum list right now has a HWK, a Syck, a Y-Wing, and a Z-95... It's pretty fun and fairly successful so far.

I don't think i've ever made a scum list without an HWK truth be told. I just find the scum HWK pilots so **** good!

I do confess that I run Scum substantially less than Rebel - which I run a lot less than Imperial.

If the Tie/Fos continue to see increased use (which it seems they are), Palob just WRECKS Juke + Comm Relay variants. I felt dirty taking that evade token from my opponent the instant he got into range...
