Dice?

By ihatevnecks, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

So I picked up the F&D book a while back, and was looking at buying some of the other books in the RPG line here this week - but what about dice? I've checked Amazon (who I'd prefer to use due to having a large GC balance there), Barnes & Noble, and now FFG's own store, and nobody has the dice. Have there been any news announcements or previous topics I couldn't find answering when they'd get more of these out.

Seems a bit odd to force special dice on a game and then not even have them available. I understand they've got dice roller apps, but my group's more a fan of actual dice, and they'd be too cheap to buy those anyways :)

The game has been pretty popular and has a history of running out of dice. Right now it looks like there is a shipment on the boat. Figure 2-3 weeks and it will hit the stores. You can also pick up one of the beginner boxes they come with a set and they're pretty good adventures.

Oh and figure for a table two sets are the minimum you should have and three sets all you really need.

FuriousGreg's got the right of it. Every few months there will be a dry spell of dice since they only produce them in batches and order when necessary.

Would it be over the top to suggest picking up the beginner game boxes? You'll get your dice and it shouldn't be too difficult to upgrade the difficulty of the adventures and circumstances that involve the PCs in them.

If your group is to cheap I'd suggest the app. If they really want to roll real dice then they can help defray the cost of getting enough for the entire group. The GM shouldn't foot all the bill.

As a stopgap measure there is always the sticker sheet which FFG provided for the Edge of the Empire Beta. I have the PDF on my PC, if you would like me to email it to you, send me a PM. All you need to do is print off the PDFsheet on to sticker sheets, cut out and apply to spare dice (or specially purchased dice) of the right shape (D12, D8 and D6). I made approx three sets of dice for my games prior to the dice even being released.
