Such an expansion could include models. A 'Battle of Yavin' set could certainly include models, and fit in their business plan. It would basically be like any set that had repaints, but with more emphasis on the missions.

For 15 bucks maybe, its a decent price, if it includes new tokens, a cool narrative and at least 5 new pilots per faction, and maybe some new upgrade cards,

For more, not even in hell, the main draw for me are ships, no ships no party, i have yet to play most of the missions

The problem with a product like this in X-wing is that FFG has been commited to making every product more or less standalone in conjunction with one of the core sets. If you have a bunch of missions in a book that say 'you deploy x ships of this type' it necessitates the buyer already having a huge fleet.

Without models:

Campaign and tokens? No.

New pilots for various ships and/or upgrade cards? Yes.

A pack of cards with some of the favorites: Say 5-10 bucks for a pack that includes an IA, Crackshot, Predator, Push the limit, say 10 more, preferably with alternate art. I'd grab multiples.

FFG is already on record several times saying they won't ever release an expansion that didn't have a ship in it.

That rule must only apply for upgrade and ship cards, because they clearly have no problem releasing accessory packs. I could imagine them releasing a campaign pack with no upgrades or ship cards in it, but I don't think we'll see anything like that soon.
