Adventure aboard the Executor!

By Muddman, in Game Masters

So my party's roll in the Battle of Endor is a mission for Commander Luke Skywalker. Skywalker intends to rebuild the Jedi order after the war, but to do that he needs students. The Inquisitors (whom my players have fought and fled from) operate all throughout the galaxy, but the one thing they know is that Vader is personally involved in most Inquisitor missions. This means that every Inquisitor in the galaxy has reported into the Executor, Vader's command ship, which also means there are files aboard the ship somewhere. The Rebels have an intelligence asset on the Executor, a sympathizer that has spent the better part of a year setting up for the Rebels to make a run at the ship.

Their mission parameters:

1. Board the Executor pretending to be an imperial work crew sent to repair the venting system.

2. Make contact with the Rebel Sympathizer.

3. Find the Inquisitor base

4. Infiltrate and slice the relevant files.

5. Escape before it does a nose dive into the Deathstar!

My plans for plot twists:

1. Their crew gets reassigned last second by a superior officer, meaning they're unable to make contact with the sympathizer.

2. The ship goes to yellow alert thats to a different infiltrator, making their job that much tougher.

3. Two dark side marauders waiting for the Inquisitor's base.

4. They meet a dark jedi slicing the same files they want. He's meant to get away, but not before he slashes the control panel a few times to make their job tougher..

5. The battle of Endor ensues before they can escape, meaning tey'll need to do something to weaken the vessel from the inside.

Any other ideas?

Sounds like a great idea. The Executor is a great location because it's so massive you can have virtually anything you want in there, it just happens to be in the middle of one of the most fortified battleships the Empire have and its in the middle of a battle.

Maybe an added complication would be the discovery of a group of Rebel prisoners from Hoth. Then they've got to find a ship big enough to get them all out of there.

Another idea that occurred to me, what if Vader had some sort of vault? Somewhere he kept the things most important to him (he doesn't seem like the sentimental type outwardly, so maybe was secretly collecting some sort of dangerous artefacts or something in preparation for an attempt to take on Palpatine).

You know the Emperor probably had access so even if the Executor is blown up maybe sending them underwater to salvage whatever survived the plunge into Endor's oceans may help?

I have an adventure for a rebel group set parallel to Rogue One though I didn't know that when I had written it. The group is one of many who the alliance sent out in search of evidence about this Super-Weapon that's a buzz around the imperials for some tie now. They are sent to Fondor where they hear of the big unveiling of a secret project to imperial honorates by the gouverneur of Fondor. They have to infiltrate the party in some way: Catering, posing as a guest, taking part in the "Entertainment". The reveal is the Executor, 75% finished in orbit. The players then have to sabotage ist's construcion, but can always only delay it, so that it is not combat ready together with the Death Star.

I wrote in many details, I wrote it for savage worlds back then, but I wrote it in german, so I guess unless someone does speak my language it is of no interest for you.

Not exactly what I had in mind, but that's pretty cool though.

Good ideas with the plot points but I would think up some positives too for when your PCs roll the inevitable Triumph.

I'm going to guess, with Muddman's post history of only three, that this went nowhere - or that followup is unlikely. Pity, it sounds like soild idea. I'd love to see how this played out.

It's a good idea, had a similar one except it's a large piece of DS1 in a decaying orbit above Yavin. They need to get aboard and salvage similar stuff masquerading as Imperials in the system after it's destruction.

If you're looking for Death Star Wreckage Adventures, check out the old WEG game Scavenger Hunt, which had the climax of the second act on a chunk of Death Star in a ship graveyard. Lots of stuff to strip mine there.
