Gonzanti and the DLT

By Stoneface, in X-Wing

Is the Dual Laser Turret upgrade on the Gozanti considered a secondary weapon? Also, in the campaign if the rebels capture the ship, they get to use it in G3A. It starts with 3 shields removed. Does anyone know if this is the max shields (2) for this episode or can it regain all five shields?

This was a great campaign. I highly recommend it!

Yeah that's absolutely a secondary weapon, I can't comment to the rest though.

Reasons why: There are no lines on the card stating that it isn't a primary.

To my knowledge there is nothing in the rulebook stating that if you don't have a primary weapon, a secondary is upgraded to primary ergo it remains secondary.

Any other weapon put in that hardpoint would also be secondary.

1. yes, secondary. it's not a Primary weapon. primary is in the card.

2. the max shields value stays the same, it just starts with less shields. recover them if you want

3. every mission, especially the one that came with IG-2000 is good. IG one is EPIC and trolltastic

The ship's card has no attack factor or range. PS, Energy, Agility, Hull and Shield values are all that's present. There's a green "v" on the base that seems to imply a firing arc but no explanation is given. Unless that's the arc for ordnance tubes. Hence my question of primary weapon.

Thanks for clarifying the shield status though. And I agree the missions are great. I wish FFG would publish a campaign book for all three factions.

Thus ship has no primary attack.

The green V is the arc for attacking with hardpoints and resolving effects like Backstabber (attack outside arc)

Yup - you use that arc for Firing Tubes, as well as any other Hardpoint mod you might have got from another epic expansion.

The Imperial Assault Carrier has one hardpoint. The firing arc on the base is for that hardpoint. you can equip any of the released hardpoint weapons there - Quad Laser Cannons, Single Turbolaser, Ion Cannon Battery or a missile or torpedo with the new Ordnance Tubes mod. All of these weapons - as hardpoints - count as secondary weapons, and use the printed firing arc.

Or you can equip the new Dual Laser Turret hardpoint, which is limited to the Gozanti only. This hardpoint explicitly states it can perform attacks outside the printed firing arc.

The green V is the Gozanti's firing arc. It has no primary weapon, but it still needs an arc because it can equip secondary weapons. The DLT ignores arc, but it would matter if you used a different hardpoint upgrade (including missiles/torpedoes with Ordnance Tubes) or for other cards that reference arc (like Backstabber, Tactician, or Autothrusters).

Thanks guys! Evidently I was (am) having a senior moment. Never dawned on me that the IAC could or would carry weps from the othe expansions! DOH!

My opponent pulled a great move last night after I did a red move while stressed. He ran me into the side of the IAC then side swiped me with his move. Serves me right for pulling a rookie error.
