400 point rebel - SpaceCon Special

By LTD, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

This is the first time I've posted a fleet on this site.

I have played in one shop Tournament, and this Sunday am heading to the National Capital for a fun game.

I love playing Rebels, and have experimented with a few different lists against my local mate, who is a better player than me, and sometimes I come close to winning, though not often.

Tonight I got thrashed trying to play with too many fighters and making too many bad decisions.

This list is what I'm thinking of taking to Canberra for SpaceCon. I only have these ships (and one of them I have borrowed).

I like going second, forcing the opponent to choose my mission, getting the advantage in setting the terrain, and getting a slight advantage in deployment. I like watching the enemy setup, and then swinging on them like a barn door from one flank.

Thoughts, comments, suggestions?

I'm mostly looking for ideas about:

1. Fighters - is this enough of a speed bump, or should I not even bother?

2. Missions - particularly the yellow one - but also "superior positions". Is it worth it when I'll probably win deployment anyway?

3. General policy of unit positions, etc.

Remember, these are the only capital ships I have...

Thanks!

Hi mate

Let me try and give my few cents on the above.

You have a lot of activations...which is nice....however you are running everything basically barebones. Try and get a few upgrades in there if you can.

ECM is good for the AF to keep them alive, Xi7s are a decent turbolaser upgrade to stop redirects. Gunnery teams on the AF's are almost a must. Very effective.

The corvette A wants Turbolaser Reroute Circuits (if you have the card)

The corvette B wants SW7 Ion Cannons (if you have the card)

Upgrade one of the Nebs to Salvation title (very decent title)

Regarding the squadrons, I would try and take some more if you are looking for coverage. Its decent enough but possibly another X-Wing and A-Wing will help against Rhymerball or Fireball Imperial squadron builds

Hope some of this helps mate

Hey,

I don't have any of the cards you mention apart from ECMs and Gunnery teams.

I could cash out the CR90B to get some upgrades...

Something like this?

- Enhanced Armament ( 10 points)

1 Tycho Celchu ( 16 points)
2 X-Wing Squadrons ( 26 points)

With Dodonna, I've ran a Corvette B with Dodonna's Pride with pretty good success. You can catch some players off-guard with this little guy

I like it much better than the first fleet mate.

Maybe drop the Enhanced Armament and drop.in another Xwing or A wing if you can....gives you more support fighter wise.....but that's your call. Personal preference

Hey there LTD. We're heading up from Sydney and are happy to lend you cards and ships that you might need to make a stronger list. Just let me know!

Thanks Ken - I should be right - keep it simple and cheap is my motto!

Switch Tycho for Jan to make it a proper speedbump with those braces. I'd prefer three x's, but two should do a fair bit.

I agree with this. Drop that CR90A to a B to afford Jan.

I'm also a proponent of a Corvette B with Dodonna Title. You get to use Dodonna's ability guaranteed with that B.

Well, I took basically the above list, though with some changes.
