Scum broadsider?

By Beatfacehorde, in X-Wing

Would you like to see a small Scum Broadsider? (a ship with no front arc, just left and right firing arcs) I think it would have to be kind of slow, great health pool, 1 maybe 2 agility, no turrets, no missiles, *maybe* cannons (however you would have to have some kind of upgrade for your cannon to shoot out of both arcs) I think it could be a really fun ship to fly.

Yes with rules that you can't firs from the same arc twice in a row.

Like top world shots, one from each side with less dice, or one shot from one side with more dice would be cool, like a power transfer. No 1 maneuvers except straight and all green 3s and white 4k. Just zip around and shoot like a pirate

A ship with different mechanics would be great, but how can we make a non-huge broadsider?
the closest we have is YV666 (aw yiss, Daredevil!)

And I can't really remember even a EU ship that was small enough to fit, and was a complete broadside terror

Why not just play Armada?

Why not just play Armada?

Or Epic

Tantive is a broadsider :D

problem of Armada is relatively small ship base.

Space pizza vs weird kitbash

What I meant was, if you have a HLC you could fire once, but you could choose what arc to fire from.

I like it. Probably large, though - small ships have trouble fitting the rear arc in. (Honestly kind of hoped the Hounds Tooth would be this, but they did fine with the 180 works fine too).

Give it a title that lets you shoot both directions in the same turn... And watch the world burn. :D

And I'm just sitting here, hoping for flak frigates for S&V

Is there such a thing as a non-Scum Broadsider? Or a Large Broadsider?

A ship with only side-arcs seems like a new mechanic. Why the extra limitations of being small and Scum?

Tantive isn't new.

it's just huge with the benefits coming from being able to PEWPEW from same arc multiple times.

and rebels have enough toys already, time to give S&V something to play with.

I don't think of small as being a limitation, I was just being specific. I don't really think that Scum need another large ship, with the new one, that puts them at 4. I just think that a ship that only broad sides would be an interesting mechanic. I mean, I wouldn't be opposed to Rebels getting it, but it feels more like a Scum thing to me.

It should definitely be a large ship - a broadside on a snubfighter makes no sense - but as noted I can't think of anything that small that carries only flank weapons.

Just look at my avatar. Give me some broadsides. On the rebel transport. And allow it in 100pt. games. Pirate frigate for the win.

P.S. You might be able to do this with ordnance tubes if FFG ever gave the transport a firing arc and a hardpoint or two. And you would have to change the Huge ship in non-epic rule. But only for the Transport.

For home funplay you can take CR-90, name it Rental Fist and play it as a scum ship.

now with introduction of 4-lom and zuckuss it might be even fun to play.

Rental DID OWN HER OWN CR90

I dig the idea of a scum epic with side arcs only as the bread and butter....but a rear arc to really fear. For wreaking pursuers but in game when that thing starts to turn its tail on you its time to LOOK OUT!
