I think I've made a viable >Imperial< Boba list

*grabs beer and popcorn*

I'm getting beer and popcorn too, just enjoying the show :P

The more exploitative Scum variant with PS 10 and 11 Inertial Dampeners:

Boba with VI, Slave 1, Extra Munitions, Proton Bombs, Autoblaster Cannon, crew of choice, Inertial Dampeners.

Talonbane Cobra with VI, Engine Upgrade, and Inertial Dampeners.

With Gunner on Boba that's 96 points. With Bombardier on Boba we have more room for initiative and missiles. Recon Specialist and Navigator are also decent choices, same with Tactician. Hell, even Flight Instructor, whatever.

Plan a 5k or 4 straight or whatever with Talonbane and if they account for that you just slam on the brakes. Now not only do we have boost and proton bombs at high PS, we also have the ability to just stop.

Autoblaster on scum Boba not my idea, but looks super deadly to a Soontir. Get behind Boba? Proton Bomb. Get in front? Autoblaster. Tactician extends that death zone to range 2.

He may be a grumpy sod when it comes to certain game elements, but Goomba's showing a lot of class right now, if you ask me. A lot of sh***ty comments getting thrown his way and he hasn't responded in kind. Kudos!

If I had read this thread before you won that store champ I would have said you are crazy with overloading an imperial Firespray so much. I am happy for you that you started having fun by outbuilding the meta in an extremely creative (if cynical) way.

Everone saying that PGS complains because he can't win: You are wrong, stop posting in this thread or start enjoying the listbuilding work that has been done here.

Its nice to see an Imperial Boba on a table, let alone winning a store championship :D

I have also taken to flying Imp Boba. Here's a thread I started on this some time ago:http://tinyurl.com/gux4g2h

I recently played in a FLGS Winter tournament and had modified my build to what I called "The Odd Couple":

http://geordanr.github.io/xwing/?f=Galactic%20Empire&d=v3!s!38:27,35,28,48,13:1:3:U.126;22:57,73:23:17:U.124&sn=The%20Odd%20Couple%202.0

Edit: Had IC and not Autoblaster the weekend I played this build.

Went 0 - 4 with it. I have found that unless Boba has some way to modify his attack die he doesn't do a lot of damage (at least this weekend). I deployed both prox mines in every game. Had opponents hit prox mines 6 times in my 4 games for a total of 2 damage.

Game 1 against Poe, Tycho, and Blue Ace: Killed tycho, lost both ships

Game 2 against Palpmobile, Soontir, and something else: Killed Soontir, lost both ships

Game 3 against TIE swarm: Killed a TIE, lost Boba

Game 4 against Poe, Salm, and something else: Tabled

The Ion Cannon was helpful when I used it, but I didn't need it that often.

Sometimes the dice just do ya. I like flying Navigator Fett, though, but mostly because I sometimes really misjudge opponent's moves and Navigator gives me a sliver of hope that I can make adjustments so I don't get blocked.

In hindsight, I'd probably change EU to APL and change VI to PTL or Predator.

Autoblaster with tactician sounds dope, if somewhat corner case. Might be worth testing idk.

Thing is PS 10 EU fett doesn't have much problem catching even soontir in arc. But specifically front arc AND range 1? Thats a tall order for a 5 pt upgrade.

One interesting thing about Boba and Vader and Rebel Captive is how thematic it is.

What should it be called?

Yeah, but this one goes to eleven.

No disintegrations.

Han in Carbonite.

Scum version with Talonbane could be called:

Talonbane Boba

Broba

Cobra Fett

Talonboba Cobra

"Oh great Scum has an Acewing bull list now"

Scum Boostwing

Live to boost, boost to live

These puns are just too good to let go to waste!

Talonbane Cobra and Boba Fett popping pills flying in tricked out space war engines seems totally metal. So I think "This one goes to 11" is really the right name for it.

Got my hopes up too high, VI Talonbane sucks. Dies in two turns. Certainly doesn't help that I faced something that almost hard counters it ~40 point death machine Redline and 4 Crack Squadrons, but I would have had a significantly higher chance of not losing with the Imperial version.

Dampeners also not that great. Nice to have the option, but I'd almost rather just not have the temptation to stress myself with a Firespray.

Bombardier. Meh.

Autoblaster Cannon? Some nice synergy with Scum Boba and against a Soontir yeah, but against anything else would rather have Homing Missiles. Being able to launch one of these at range 3 is real nice. Also, having to go out of your way for range 1's is annoying and I'd rather just have Imperial Boba's ability. So should I try Cobra Fett again I'd stick with Homing Missiles.

Vader can carry the weight when Boba has to run. Talonbane cannot.

When Talonbane tries to run he has either already died, or is unable to run.

You need to constantly be juggling your opponents between both ships and the Scum variant just can't do that at all.

That's fine though, forces me to play more with the Imperial version, refine the list and my skill with it. Vader and 2/3rds health Boba can do some work against 3 Crack Squadrons who have spent their crack already and Redline. Scum Boba and Turn3IDied Cobra just can't.

Congrats on winning with a pilot few people give a chance anymore. And congrats on beating your opponents at their own game. I'm still not convinced the PS Bid is "autowin" given some recent showings by lower PS lists, but it certainly does give you an advantage with Boosting and Barrel Rolling.

Don't listen to the salty salt-stirrers, enjoy the win and try to repeat with it at Regionals.

I'll try a repeat at Regionals but not sure if I'll be able to make it. ******* post office.

I definitely hear you about low PS lists being a problem for it. Facing a ~40 point FCS Cluster Missiles Redline and 4 Crack Squadrons means with one wrong move Boba is down to 40% health. I'll have to try and practice against it more. Redline is a B-Wing with one more health, should be easy to crush if I'm careful. Past few times I've tried popping the soap bubbles before killing Redline, should try it the other way around.

I want to fit Ysanne into the build, but that puts me at 98 points. So I'm considering trying out Accuracy Corrector on Vader to free up that point for Ysanne and still stay at 97. Normally with ATC my rolls are hit blank + ATC crit. AC allows me to token up and not sacrifice defense by having to spend focus on offense.

Rebel Captive works great but when I have to face something like a fat Falcon Boba simply cannot trade shots, even though I must because turret. So Recon Specialist/Ysanne is what I'm going to try next.

What have been your experiences with X1, Accuracy Corrector, VI, Engine Upgrade, Procket Vader?
