Bounty Hunter Fragile Alliegences

Figured I'd re-purpose an older custom game mode idea for the bounty hunters.

Soon we'll have all of the main bounty hunters in X-Wing.

When that happens I think it might be fun to have a free for all of sorts.

But with a twist.

The game must include Boba Fett (Scum version), Bossk, Dengar, IG-88, Zuckuss, and 4LOM.

Only one IG-88 is allowed.

For theme's sake, 4LOM and Zuckuss are on the same ship, so choose which gets to be the pilot and which is crew.

There are no point limits in upgrading your ships.

Unique rules apply across all ships (So no putting the Dengar crew on Bossk's ship for example).

Then the bounty hunters are randomly split into two teams.

Red Team and Blue Team (or whatever).

Set up teams like you would normally in a regular game.

Each ship has a token showing what team he's on. (When we played this before we used the empire/rebel tokens from Imperial Assault.)

Game plays as normal with these additional rules:

Each ship has two special actions added to his action bar:

Action Defect: Switch to the other team.

Action Recruit: Choose one enemy ship within range 3. That ship must switch teams. Then you receive one stress token.

If all players are on the same team, there are no teams and it becomes a free for all.

Last hunter standing wins.

Sounds like an interesting scenario

Don't know if it is an issue, but Zuckuss/4Lom have the only small ship, with a rather slow dial. If everyone else with their fat a...large ships takes EU those 2 might have a problem.

The lack of points limits could be an issue - you can pour a /lot/ more points into dengar than you can 4-LOM or Zuckuss, and he's in a ship that's relatively fragile and unremarkable in maneuvering too.

It's not the end of the world, but they'll effectively be the little fish amongst the sharks - both unable to escape and prone to bring eaten whenever it suits the others.

... Hmm. Maybe give them a reliable cloaking device, just for this? That could help very nicely. Picture's on the card and all too, y'know? :-)

I thought with 4LOMs ability to ditch stress, the recruit action might be more useful on him.

But yeah I'd expect the mist hunter to die first lol. He's got to really play the mind games against everyone.

Perhaps set reasonably high points cap and allow ships that cannot get to that upper limit to take extra hull upgrades

That could work.

I do like just handing Mist Hunters a free, reliable cloaking device.

They'd be a true terror :D

We did this a while back without the whole bounty hunter spin. Just bring whatever you want.

The only stipulation was that the unique rules still applied across all ships.

We also had some sort of point system. You get points = to the cost of any ship you kill. Plus bonus points if you're the last man standing, runner up, etc.

It was really fun. I think we had 5 players. Would be extra cool with upwards of 8 players.

Sounds kind of like my Bounty Hunter Rodeo idea. I like it.
