PSA: The Rebels Thread is not a baseless complaint/whining thread.
(Best Andy Rooney voice): did you ever notice that green dice just don't work? I mean the red dice have 4 hits/crit but green dice? No, just three evades. How is that fair? And don't get me started on ordnance! What, they fixed it? Never mind.

really can't wait for you to finish the forums at CaptainLackwit.com so you can FINALLY have the authority over a forum that you so desperately seek here ![]()
For what it's worth, I'm a big fan of the Rebels thread you started but what you call 'baseless whining' really is a free and open exchange of ideas. Which is exactly what a forum is for. Don't start threads that are going to be wildly popular if you don't want dissenting opinions ![]()

It's not a matter of needed authority.
It's a matter of certain members being complete ninnies about the smallest things- who usually don't even watch the show. Why participate in a thread you've no stake in but to complain..?
I mean... I've never posted in Mathwing or a majority of tournament lists.
Dissenting opinions are fine. But there's much more to discuss than what's wrong with something. Seems to be all anybody ever **** focuses on anymore.

Or is that all you're hearing? The reverse argument of "what is the point of just posting about how great something is without discussing your opinion?" could be made. Sure, it's nice you created a thread with the intention of it being a place people could fawn over Rebels, but not everyone wants to simply drop in with "Good job, Rebels!" comment, some people actually want to discuss what they liked and, sorry if this itches, disliked.
Again, not for you to set the tone of what people discuss on a 3rd party forum, not even in topics you have started and it's CERTAINLY not up to you to interpret people's posts on our behalves.
So where is the Jar Jar Binks thread?

You're right, not everybody wants to fawn over everything. Most of the time they want to complain.
Because apparently, there is no middle ground.
Guess the whole yoda thing of do-or-do-not got drove in really ***king hard.

There you go with the hyperbolic "all or nothing" nonsense. Not EVERYONE in that thread is complaining and not EVERYONE is on either side of a "fawning or complaining" chasm. There are a bunch of people (myself included) that post in there with simple commentary, questions, updates or thoughts which is how that thread has grown to 130-or so pages. If it were like you were trying to paint out, it wouldn't be that big or lively a thread.
Don't turn it into something it's not. Switch to decaf. Calm down. Stop trying to define people's thoughts and behavior and stop using that as a reason to get on a soapbox. Enjoy the exchange of ideas. Take what tickles you and ignore the rest. Don't feel you are even remotely able - or should try - to influence or change someone's opinion via a forum, and no amount of foot-stamping changes that.
Breathe. Go use that energy for something productive because that world desperately needs this kind of passion but this is a game forum. It's a Star Wars game forum. But until you figure that out, remember:

This is not a "PSA." You are whining about alleged whining and started an entirely new thread because the thought that the entire user base of this forum might not be aware of your opinion is simply too much for you to stand.
1) Your opinion is not that big of a deal.
2) Think about whether other will want to participate in your outburst before you try to force them to acknowledge you.
3) No one really care. If we do not like the thread that you are referencing, we will not read it.
Rebels is an ok show. It's great that some orignal OT actors are doing voice work and the CW cast is coming back but it's not the greatest thing since sliced insta-muffin. The writing still suffers from being in the last gasps of he animation ghetto. The characters are pretty much five man band/trope-tastic to the point of being very familiar before we even get to know them, especially the similarities to firefly. I do enjoy that the good guys don't always win and bad guys aren't all bumbling idiots (although the villian ball does get picked up from time to time). I enjoy the use of EU designs and concept art. All in all its a good continuation of the CW effort, but suffers from all the same failings that show had.
I don't understand why anyone would want to watch this show if they hated it so much. I also don't understand why anyone would want to defend it till the bitter end because in the end it's Droids 2.0 (at least it's not Ewoks).

Yeah dude, maybe don't start wildly popular threads. You should have known 113 pages ago...

No, I didn't say everybody was complaining.
But I did say that it feels like there's never a middle ground between whining or not.

Hey, I don't get defending it until the bitter end either- it has its flaws, but it's not awful just because it isn't the dark and gritty thing (except, it's getting dark) people immediately wanted. It feels like a lot of fans are just... never satisfied. That nothing is ever, "Alright. Good enough."
And it's frustrating that everything's got to be perfect.
No, I didn't say everybody was complaining.
But I did say that it feels like there's never a middle ground between whining or not.
And it's frustrating that everything's got to be perfect.
Which in both cases is, again, on you. I am occasionally incredulous at people's opinions and posts, but to actually find it "frustrating" is not the fault of the transmitter, but the receiver. Getting frustrated with people on a forum is like being frustrated by someone on a reality TV show. Sure, you get to live it with them in the moment and it can emotionally impact you but nothing you do will change the behavior, the people who upset you wouldn't actually care what you think even if they knew and, best of all, you have the option to change channels, close your browser and put your energy elsewhere.
And the fact you are overly sensitive to people's opinions doesn't actually make it true. As stated before, I enjoy that thread because there are people on either extreme and then a bunch of us in the middle and it makes for healthy debate and a good read. As evidenced by the thread approaching 130 pages. The fact that you are annoyed by opposing opinions doesn't make them less valid to the rest of us and certainly doesn't warrant a "PSA" to give instructions on how you want people to act in your threads.
I'm actually really not looking to argue with you (or anyone) on these forums - part of the reason I enjoy this community is that, for the most part, it's civil and mature and we have a common interest based on another common interest and I truly enjoy the discussions here - but you have a habit of telling people how they should act or think or respond to threads, and it is both immature and wrong. This is a 3rd party forum and - again, for the most part - a great place to hang out and exchange opinions. It's not up to you to define the tone or where/what people should post.
Edited by BojanglezOpposing opinions are fine.
Opposing opinions from people who don't even know anything about the source material and continue to mushroom stamp it despite that are what get me.

I just want Stormtroopers to stop missing people two feet from them, and stop standing there pointing a gun at their target waiting to get knocked out.
Please baselessly complain elsewhere. Like here, for instance.
PSA: You don't get to decide what people can post on a public forum.
It's a discussion thread for the Rebels TV show. You don't get to dictate what opinions people are allowed to have about the show just because you started the thread.
all your issues, not ours. Refer back to my earlier post. No need for anymore PSA's on what you deem acceptable, just add this thread to your signature and everyone can understand your mentality.Opposing opinions are fine.

Yup, I get that people being reasonable can be very frustrating to the young and the strong-headed who need to believe they have all the answers. You appear to be both and have none.
There's legitimately no passive-aggressive tendencies in any of my responses. You made a self-aggrandizing thread and I politely responded calling you out. Don't project your issues.
Anyone interested in a "PSA: PSA threads do not generate the desired result" thread? Let me know.
I just had some amazing roti.

Believe me when I say that I know **** well how few answers I have to anything. But when it comes to projecting, you've managed to assert that I should, "Put this in my signature so everybody can understand my mentality"- as if to say, "Wear this so everybody can understand you believe your opinion is the only correct one, because that's what I believe you think of yourself."
But, you're wrong. Again. There's a reason I don't go into a majority of threads. X-Wing is extremely inactive where I am, I'm behind at least two waves once again thanks to financial difficulties, and as a result I can't really comment on the effectiveness of several builds, and so on.
But.
What I do know is where many of the events/designs from Rebels come from, that Disney didn't eradicate some sacred Expanded Universe that wasn't exactly that amazing anyway, and that is was never actually canon in the first place.
So what gets me goat is that you've got all these dudes who don't know their facts, gallivanting about as though they do and that's final. It's frustrating to see dismissive arrogance as a central personality trait, tacked onto a complete unwillingness to learn what the truth is. Just, finding reasons to complain instead, when there's little actual reason to complain.
The overwhelming negativity of The Star Wars fandom is just... Mind boggling. That horrible group that boycotted TFA because they decided that Disney was Anti-White?
That turdball group that decided they'd spoil any and everything, just because they could, but a similar one that did it because it wasn't up to their standards?
It's worse than trekkies that whine about JJ Trek films. It is significantly worse. The entitlement to "How I see Star Wars is the only way Star Wars should be" is just... Ignorant. Stupid. Brash. Callous. It makes the fandom look worse as a whole.
So, heaven forbid I push back against a bunch of overly negative whining and pants wetting over details like the wrong shapes used for Rebel ships because apparently that matters.
It is agonizing to watch a fandom I've been part of my entire life do nothing but hate on every little new thing they see because they're so attached to things they can't let go of- and it's full of misconceptions and such about the old material too!
"It's too kiddy, it's too corny, it's too slapstick" dude, some of these things have been here since the beginning- or are we just going to forget the antics of R2 and 3PO? Or god forbid, Jabba's Palace and Ewoks in general? Nothing is sacred, and even the oldest stuff is full of really, really weird stuff. Stuff that if done now, would be condemned for being too silly. Not dark enough. As though it has to be dark and broody the entire time.
What I don't get...
Is what the hell people actually want out of Star Wars.
Get a film that's similar to the OT? Too similar to the OT. Get one that's not, it's not enough like the OT. Get a solid animated series (two of them actually), it's too kiddy because it's not live action or the "Animation" (style, most people don't differentiate these two) is too weird.
What do you people actually want?
It's worse than trekkies that whine about JJ Trek films. It is significantly worse. The entitlement to "How I see Star Wars is the only way Star Wars should be" is just... Ignorant. Stupid. Brash. Callous. It makes the fandom look worse as a whole.
You forgot the word "correct".
See: Entitlement.
The JJ films are basically a nigh-non-canon AU. If you don't like it, take joy in the fact that basically, none of its events matter to the Prime Universe.

This is also correct.
More importantly though is when is Disney going to give me my Star Wars flavored Jessica Jones/Daredevil?
a.k.a. Star Wars Underworld
