They pulled the rug under my feet in beyond the rim

He probably found clowning around a laugh, but behaviour like that is detrimental to everyone enjoyment in the long run. There is no excuse for that stunt he pulled.

Oh no he wasn't clowning around, exactly the opposite; he was no nonsense, aggressive, untrusting (I am not sure this is a word) and believed that everyone and everything was against him and the group, and as it turned a villain*.

It wasn't the only problematic PC, the gunnery PC was supposed to be a wanna be jedi and from the second session he started going being full dark side, including killing a downed (and unconcious) opponent.

The entire party make up was wrong, one of the PCs was a passive, talk first wanna be jedi; the other was a good hearted hotshot rebel pilot; the other was supposed to be an aggressive, shoot first ask questions later selfish droid, which turned out to be a psychopath droid; and the last was supposed to be a wanna be jedi who tries to manage his short temper but turned out to be a dark jedi who was dark because he was afraid he isn't powerful enough.

*I have to say again, that was (partly) because of the player not knowing enough about star wars which resulted to him not understanding (despite me saying so) that droid PCs have emotions and can tell right from wrong

Ahhhh I see I see. The medium of the internet is so hard to understand sometimes, senstances take meanings that I've probably read into a little too much. I've had a few sessions with a particlar player thats coloured my perception that way, apologies.

Hmmm, as for the whole dark Jedi thing, depends I guess. I never got why striking down an opponent was particularly a bad thing, especially when it comes to sith.

No harm done, i too have misread things on the internet.

About the "striking down a downed opponent"... ehmm... it depends on the circumstances and who the opponent is (also what your character is supposed to be), in the case of a sith i also say striking him down, you can't really expect to hold him prisoner nor redeem him (unless you retire your character), in that case i think that the jedi character who is strong enough (strong in soul, spirit, mind etc.) should simply eat the conflict and be done with it and narrated somewhat like this "take the burden of this sin upon himself in order to save countless poeple from the sith's depraved desires".

In this case it was a wanna be jedi striking down a captain Harsol who they were told that could help them and make a deal, oh and he was shooting them on stun and not to kill them.
