I'm honestly a huge fan of seismic charges because of how cheap and their board denial abilities.
Had an alright time with Ion Bombs a few nights ago. Managed to catch my first opponent's Boba Fett with them forcing him towards a board edge, meaning his next move to avoid flying off was to go onto an asteroid. Removing Boba from play for two turns? 2pts well spent.
Number 2. Because I'm 12.
seismics are incredibly legit and stupid trolly when used on miranda
TLT forces chases, seismics punish hard once you lead them between obstacles (also helps counter the hard counter: crackswarms)
followed by conner nets, expensive but brutal and completely dice independent (rewarding you 100% for positioning, 0% for luck)
don't like ions due to lack of damage
don't like proxies because dice
don't like clusters because they're barely better than proxies when you set all 3 templates off on the same target
Proton bombs are nasty.
Proton bombs are nasty.
But pricey.
I'd rather double up on seismics than chance crit deck RNG
I brought a bomber list to our league today, went 3-0.
Emon with Seismic, Proxy, and Cluster.
Two Y-s with Proxies and TLTs (which hardly did anything).
The cluster mine was by far the champion of the day. 10/10, would bomb again.
What surprised me was just how effective that many bombs can be. A Miranda got wrecked by one shot from Emon followed by a Cluster. She took all three mines, but died before the last one was rolled for.
The bombs did an excellent amount of damage in a short amount of time
Dunno they arnt my style honestly and I've never really seen them used that well.

How is that possible? One shot from Emon at most could remove all of her shields and then 2 Clusters maxed out would leave her with 1 hull left. Even if this were possible it's almost ridiculously unlikely. I don't like how Clusters are terrible mathematically without all three mines landing.
it's possible if you forget that they don't count crits (unlike proxies)

Eh, couple Y's might have finished her off. It was a concentrated effort, but the point is that the mines fared fantastically well.
Close call for me between proximity mines, proton bombs, and conner net but I guess I'll go with proxy mines as they are the bomb I use the most.

Proton.
I love Proton Bombs and Proximity Mines - completely different in their applixation, completely devastating if you get it right.
Protons on a Scum Genius Y-Wing, Proximity Mines on Emon Azzameen.
The type my opponent spent points on.
BOOM
Conner net is so much fun, and just so nasty.
Ive only loaded up Clusters and Conner so far and have yet for the Conners to hit! So my opinion is still out!
Seismic, because they're actually reasonably priced.
Conner net by far, 1 auto damage with out rolling, skip action and ion's large ships, 2nd is seismic. The Worst one is Cluster mine, i've managed to land them on 3 Large Bases with all 3 mines touching and have yet to inflict a single damage, thats 18 dice .
1. Conner Net. I love flying aces, but I'm also not a fan of the whole PS game. So anything that allows the lower-level guys to compete is good by me.
2. Seismic Charges. Cheap, area of effect damage!
3. Proximity Mines. See Conner Net.
4. Proton Bombs. Expensive, but can create fun, tense moments.
5. Ion Bombs. The lack of damage knocks these down a bit, but I do love Ion control... perhaps I just need to play them more.
6. Cluster Mines. So inaccurate and very difficult to get their full potential.
Cluster mines have quickly become a favorite of mine, each time I've used them I manage to hit multiple times (because I've always packed extra munitions too). My i seem to be at average damage, or slightly ahead. I tend to get about 1 hit per template, and I have yet to have an opponent only hit one of them. My best use was when i plopped them in front of a k-turning TIE/fo who was untouched, he rolled 4 out of 6 hits. Boom. Dead. I never fired a shot at him. The fact that they are, overall, much larger than the Proximity Mines is a plus. I also like the utility of the seismic charges, and the no-shields fun of proton bombs. I've managed some devastating hits on Headhunters and B-Wings with those early in combat that totally shaped the game. Ion Bombs... as much as I like ion effects, I've found that the lack of damage makes them iffy. If I want ion, I tend to just bring a cannon-toter.
Of the bombs my favorite is protons although I'll settle for ions in a pinch. I don't rate seismics very highly honestly. They allow your opponent choices.
For mines it has to be conner nets. Nothing else even comes close although that said I always pack proximitys as an alternative on the ships I use these on.
Used all the bombs pretty extensively but these 3 are consistently my top performers with nets being the standout.
I'll admit, I still haven't given the Conner Net a try yet. As cool and as effective as it looks, there was a bit of confusion about the timing of it's effects when it first came out and I've unintentionally avoided it since.
