I played against something similar to this yesterday (running a 3 ship T-65 list). It can hit hard but is very reliant on being flown well and in formation. Like most TIE swarms, the minute it starts to break up, you're able to pick of individual ships and the synergy starts to disappear. In this particular case, it was the loss of 'Youngster' w/ Marksmanship (and the lack of a Howlrunner in the list) which (I think) led to its demise.
The final score was 100-71 my way, but it could have easily gone the other way. But in some good news for those T-65 lovers amongst us, it was Hobbie packing IA and Targeting Astromech that saved the day. Got to love that K-turn with two actions and no stress. ![]()
