The Quasar Carrier is now canon

By melminiatures, in Star Wars: Armada

I was quite excited when I saw it too!

Armada could very much use dedicated carrier support ships to flesh out a particular play style. Right now you have to "re-task" ISDs or VSDs as frankly makeshift carriers, same goes with Assault Frigates and MC80 for the rebels.

Escort carriers, even if they have roughly the same squadron value but eschew the weaponry and defenses to be more point-efficient as dedicated fighter-pushers along with powerful squadron-buffing titles would certainly fill a massive need.

Imagine being able to have a 3 or 4 squadron value ship that can fit boosted comms that costs in the neighbourhood of 50-60 points!

I still think dedicated carriers will be the theme of wave 3. I expect a small and medium base carrier for each faction, and each ship will be packaged with 2 heavy fighter stands.... It would be a good way to make most people buy 8 ships in a 4 ship wave.

Just wait until someone lights up he docking area with LEDs!!!!,

I'm actually a little sad about the design changes to the Hammerhead - the original design was a lot better in my opinion. Still, better than nothing :)

Huh, I actually have to give Rebels a few points for this.

Of course it does not absolve the 9,002 Stupid Points they have accumulated.

I'm pretty sure those aren't Hammerheads. They look like more Class VI transports to me. (The class VI was a modification of the Praetorian class Frigate and the Praetorian was from the same era as the Hammerhead and had a similar appearance.)

Yeah, I'm sure they're not supposed to actually be four thousand year old ships, but they're clearly based on that design, even if it's via a couple of others.

I'm not familiar with this Praetorian you mention, you mean this one: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Praetorian-class_frigate? I couldn't find a mention of the Class IV Transport.

Bingo.

The second paragraph of the history section on the Praetorian page talks about how Corellian Engineering Corporation bought the rights to the Praetorian design then modified it into the Class VI.

I figured you didn't mean that one cos they look nothing alike!
