New video/ships in Star Wars Rebels mid-season2 preview

Pick a place to complain.

When the forum actually has only one place where they discuss something, I'll complain about it only in that one place.

If people are going to discuss the same **** in 3 different threads, then I'm going to discuss it in all 3 places.

It's a bulk cruiser conversion into a carrier. Old EU. Truce at Bakurra and LucasArts old Rebellion game. I used to build a lot of them in that game...

Edit: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Flurry Quasar Fire class

...which is pretty awesome. Once again Rebels is dipping into the EU for designs.

Well so did Disney and JJ. Kylo Ren and Ben Solo were EU characters. Now we may never meet Anikin Solo unfortunately or maybe like Rey they went into hiding. However Kyle Katan and Dash Rendar the not Luke and not Solo of the Star Wars video game franchise may never see the light of a Star Wars movie unless unless they put them in rebels as a side character But hey Star Wars has become a lot like Lost where everyone and everything is connected, that is JJ. Style.

As much as i dislike this toon, the scene at 2:27. Brilliant, I might give it a go just for shots like that.

Uh.

Everything and Everyone was connected LONG BEFORE J.J. Abrams was ever involved.

I think you are going to have a hard time with Star Wars period, if you want realistic sensible designs... Railings people, we need them around every deep deep hole we for some other design reason have in all our super structures...

...

No way, scifi has taught us that you can't become an advanced civilization unless your people are smart enough to survive without handrails and safety straps. If you need them you're just preventing Darwin from selecting who gets out of the gene pool.

Another pic here... Not a big fan, I am curious to see if they are trainer Ties or something?

And it looks like Kanan gets his own Sabine painted helmet.

Urgh their yoda looks terrible.

I agree.

Though the look is based on the original action figure, and the fact that it's Ezra's interpretation of how Yoda looks, since he's never seen him before. Filoni said this.

Giant Pictures Incoming. I think #1 is the mandalorian ship, but I'm not positive (it's almost a Y-wing derivative with those extension pods). And it looks like we have a new Sith ship that was modeled after Maul's vessel from Ep. 1 (#2). I think #4 has a chance to be just an A-wing, but it looks too long to be that... problem is that it just doesn't show up on screen long enough to be sure.

#2 and #4 seem to be the same ship actually. resembles a smaller version of the Kom'rk class fighter used during the clonewars.

there was a teaser clip for an upcoming episode with Sabine and hera in A-wings fighting something like that released a bit ago, IIRC, might give some better angles.

#1 is the ship Sabine's best friend (turned bounty hunter) uses. (and you can see the Quasarfire class in the background)

is that the Lothal Jedi Temple in #3?

1 is The Shadowcaster. Amazingly I'm the only **** person to notice its Y-Wing like pods 'til now.

I still question the sanity of whoever decided to call the Kom'rk a fighter. That thing is bigger then the Falcon and the Ghost with roughly the same firepower as Ghost.

Not exactly. The fact that there were kids from the central characters doesn't mean they were the same people. It was Ben Skywalker, not Ben Solo.

Not the only one. Many have. It's also been pointed out to be similar to a scurg heavy bomber or whatever. Just never came up. Not many solid screen shots of it. Didn't seem to catch the eyes of fans except for us X-wing guys, and we only like it because it means more ships.

It's not... That similar to a Scurrg.

As far as liking it, hell I legit do want to own that kind of ship. It's super cool.

So this thing here:

...looks like the coolest **** Star Destroyer fighter carrier ever...and it looks like it's a Rebel ship. Wtf?

It's going to be yet another generic TIE design that FFG will turn into a totally new ship before giving us the EU TIEs we actually want.

Rebel carrier from game SW Rebellion. Nothing new but it's nice to see it. :)

The name "Quasar Fire-class" for this ship debuted in West End Games's The Truce At Bakura sourcebook. I would guess that its visual appearance derived either from that book or from The Essential Guide to Vehicles & Vessels (released right afterward, two years before the Star Wars Rebellion game came out).

All I can say is at least they got the scale right judging from the size of the corvette escort. It's still a sitting duck and as ugly as I remember.

There's no perspective in space it could be 100 meters closer or a klick away in space there's no way to tell with the naked eye.

I think it is actually Mel Brooks as Yogurt, from Space Balls.

Looks great! I am glad that they are going to explore the Ashoka/Anakin connection more. On the hilted lightsaber, while I am not a fan of it from TFA or now in Rebels, is it possible that Rebels will have a tie in to TFA? At this point, we have next to zero back story on TFA, the Knights of Ren, and Snoke.

I just hope they continue to loose the slap stick approach. That is the largest problem with the series so far. I know it's on Disney XD, which is a kids channel, but they can make it attractive to kids/teens without resorting to slap stick.

What's wrong with slapstick? Sometimes a good stupid chuckle isn't a bad thing.

Look all I want to say is: HOLY CRAP the Quasar class carrier is canon!! WOOT. Giant space hangar's are back in baby. Armada's got some delicious new meat on the table for Rebs. That and the old republic cruisers (meh). Cool stuff, really solid trailer. This show definitely feels like it captures a good bit of the original trilogy spark.

Rebels seems to be doing more for Armada than for X-wing. That's not a bad thing.
