i didn't see it. Timestamp?Well, there is a new yellow TIE Fighter with a weird wing shape.
At 2:34. Looks like an ordinary TIE with the front two segments of the hex panels taken out.
New video/ships in Star Wars Rebels mid-season2 preview

Ah, now I see it.

Well, I guess I'm interested.
Prey tell, why is the design stupid? A lightsaber is for all intensive purposes, a laser sword, crossguards can be used offensively or defensively. Hell why is a double bladed, staff, and short lightsaber all okay...but add two teeny tiny crossguards and suddenly it's the worst thing ever?
It's silly, because suddenly you have these two small lightsabers right next to your wrist, it's just asking for an accident to happen.
Besides, a crossguard was supposed to protect the users hand, not threaten it ![]()
EDIT: the yellow TIE design makes so much sense... finally the pilot can see somewhere else than straight ahead.

...looks like the coolest **** Star Destroyer fighter carrier ever...and it looks like it's a Rebel ship. Wtf?
Another pic here... Not a big fan, I am curious to see if they are trainer Ties or something?
It's going to be yet another generic TIE design that FFG will turn into a totally new ship before giving us the EU TIEs we actually want.
I find the whole crossgaurd thing hilarious, "its dangerous to the user!!!", oh by golly, you mean the lightsaber that requires training has a dangerous part to it? You don't say. If you are using it in a manner that would be haphazard in the first place, I doubt the cross gaurd is the only thing you need to worry about.
I think you are going to have a hard time with Star Wars period, if you want realistic sensible designs... Railings people, we need them around every deep deep hole we for some other design reason have in all our super structures...
That carrier thing is super cool. Maybe the yellow stribes and the Yellow Ties are all Rebel repaints form a heist where they stole the carrier, Ties and all?
Are we still arguing about that **** saber? The rest of the internet already had this argument, like, 6 months ago. Go look it up.

Quasar Fire class
Edited by LagJansonIt's a bulk freighter conversion into a carrier. Old EU. Truce at Bakurra and LucasArts old Rebellion game. I used to build a lot of them in that game...

Quasar Fire class
Ah, I see.
Well, that sure is the only cool triangle ship design carrier I've seen. So I'm still super pissed about it being a Rebel ship.
Although now that I can see that the top is completely flat, it's slightly less cool.
If you took off the little hang-down bit in the front and put some Star Destroyer on the top, it would totally be the ultimate TIE carrier.

...which is pretty awesome. Once again Rebels is dipping into the EU for designs.

If Ezra wasn't cutting the thing in half, I might have thought that was Sabine's stolen TIE that they've started customizing.
I think that's that brand-new Tie/B..
as in Banana.
the curved wings make it look like one, the color just nails it ![]()
okay for the show, but I sincerely hope it doesn't get into xwing.
Just sat and watched this trailer with my two daughters.
EXCITEMENT!!!!
So many familiar characters now being woven into the storyline - very clever to have established the new heroes before introducing the old heavy hitters. I like it!
I so hope the Ghost becomes available in line with the first couple of episodes...
The Tie Pac-Man!
So.... new ships. I saw
1. capital ship with a hangar
2. yellow finned TIE fighter
3. mandalorian small fighter
not so new:
4. Shadow Caster
5. corellian transport ("hammer head")
honorable mention:
6. space whales
NOT new:
7. TIE bombers(!!!)
(the Off Topic thread is a good place to discuss animation/artistic dislikes or other nonesense- this thread is about new ships in the trailer...I think.)

Mmm... breakfast.
That looks amazing. Reading 'Lords of the Sith' at the moment and so I'm very excited to see Cham Syndulla making an experience. Can't wait to see how the Ahsoka & Anakin / Vader thing plays out :-)

I recall Disney/LFL saying, I think, that they were going to selectively pick the bits and pieces out of the EU that fit with the direction they were wanting to take the stories. Not all of it, just the good (to them) parts. And I'm okay with that.

You forgot Lobster Thermidor a Crevette with a mornay sauce served in a Provencale manner with shallots and aubergines garnished with truffle pate, brandy and with a fried egg on top and spam.
i'm not sure why people are upset the Quasarfire class ship is a rebel one.. it's always been one. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Quasar_Fire-class_bulk_cruiser
it's a large cargoship. which in the EU the rebels refit many examples of into Carrier vessels by fitting fighter handling gear into the cargo area.
and its not like the Imperials have to use triangles. Remember the Nebulon-B's were Imperial ships till the Rebels captured them. the Imperials used Dreadnaught class cruisers and such as well. there is a lot more to the imperial fleet than star destroyers.
honestly i have no problem with the Phoenix squadron Rebels getting a Quasarfire cargoship and turning it into their new command center. i just hope that it's introduced in a good fashion, instead of just appearing one episode.

Pick a place to complain.

Besides, Kylo Ren already proved it has incredible utility.
As am I. That way, Star Wars can be better as a whole.
And not have stupid s**t like golden bipeds that Han, Luke, and Leia have to swim through, breathing its oxygenated blood and kill it from the inside out.
Yes.
That happened.

Relax. It wasn't a full on complaint.
Not to get off topic, but anyone else feel that the Vader/Maul fight is going to become cannon now? That part of the old EU was really well written except for the fact that maul was a clone imo.
Also more A-wing repaints ideas... and it looks like armada will benefit well from this season as well.
I can't wait!
I'm pretty sure the Hammerheaded Corellian transports are Class VI bulk freighters. The Class VI was made by CEC, considered outdated by the GCW, and used the same hull design as the ancient Praetorian class Frigate which was from the same era and shipwright as the larger Hammerheads.
