These are not mentioned answered in the FAQ
1) Dead man's switch. the hound's tooth is destroyed and the pup is deployed. does the pup take damage because of dead man's switch. Reading the card says you do dead man's after destroyed. The pup is deployed after destroyed but before removal. Meaning we do dead man's than deploy the pup.
2) Ruthlessness. you have a ship (A) within range 1 of the last enemy ship(E) on the board. Your (B) ship has ruthlessness equipped and destroys the Enemy ship on his attack. The enemy ship does not have the same pilot skill number as your attacking ship (B). When is the game over. If Friendly ship (A) only has 1 HP left is it destroyed also? Would it be considered over at the moment that the last enemy ship is destroyed?
Sorry, I could not find these with simple searches.
Two Timing questions
1) i don't think you would take the damage assuming your maneuver with the Z would clear range 1. but otherwise i think so? not sure.
2) damage is dealt. it says must after an attack that hits. so.. free MOV for them it seems. because the ship wouldn't die if the attack didnt hit. by virtue of the attack hitting it requires that your ruthlessness triggers (if possible)

1) Putting Dead Man's Switch on the Hound's Tooth can be dangerous, so common sense would tend to dictate that you should choose a 2 or 3 speed maneuver when you deploy the Pup in order to avoid the DMS blast. Under the rules, you have two things triggering at the same time, so you get to choose the order. The Hound's Tooth must be still on the play area in order to measure both effects.
2) The game doesn't end the moment all of one player's ships are destroyed. The game ends at the end of a round if all of a player’s ships are destroyed. So yes, your Ship A would take a fatal hit in that case.
Edited by ParravonYes question 2 i just found in the rules reference. And question one is common sense now. Thanks Parravon.
