looks like a lot of nope in here.

looks like a lot of nope in here.

They are a cool concept, but I know I won't spend money on them.
IF they assemble and take down easily, I'll buy 3 packs for each faction (maximum 8 ships). It would cut down on storage space (full dials end up taking up a surprising amount of space), and my older dials are getting pretty beat up, particularly where my thumbs press to rotate them.
None for me, all my dials are still in good condition.
I think they're neat and would like to have some eventually, but not before a lot of other things (ships, mostly).
...am I the only one in the thread? I think they're cool. I'll be being one pack for Scum and one pack for Imperials, then swapping out dials if I have a list that's seeing heavy rotation and I'll be taking it to a major tournament.
Guess nobody else is into vanity items? What can I say; I just feel like the Emperor is a classy enough guy to warrant a little swag on his Deci dial.
I just don't even see the point in them. I don't need the identifier either, because i put my dials on my ship cards, not on the table.
If you don't use the upgrade kits you don't/can't use the identifiers anyway.
I think they're cool, but my hobby budget is pretty limited.
So it's ships, miniatures (for Imperial Assault), paint, etc. on the list first.
Had I hit that Powerball, I would be rolling in them.
Maybe 8 of each - I might pull all my dials apart - and this would allow me to save a ton of space, or none, we will see.
This was my original thought process as well, but once you pull apart the dials to keep just the parts to insert in the new "vanity dials" you wont have any marking on them to determine which is which at a glance. Now Im good at remembering what ships can do what maneuver...but my ocd will make it impossible to not second guess myself.
So instead of taking a few extra dials I will be checking which one goes with which ship before inserting it. To much work. They clearly designed these to be all or nothing, plus im worried about pulling them apart in the first place.
Nope. Im good, none for me.
I really like being able to see all of the moves available on the dial at once. I'll probably buy a pack and see how easy it is to swap the dials out. If I like them I'll probably buy 3 packs all of the same faction and pick a color to paint them.
i'm with the crowd on this one.. zero..
the cost is ridiculously high. Who set the price on those? honestly
it's worth a dollar.. maybe
If anything they will be used to fill out the last few dollars to hit free shipping on stuff
Right now no. If I find a place that sells them for less than $4.00 I might get them for my Epic ships only.
1 of each for sure... prob 1 additional Scum.
I might get, like, 3 or 4. I have a preferred 3 ship squadron that might warrant it.
I'm definitely getting them for multiple reasons:
1. They will save on wear and tear, preserving the life of my product.
2. You can see the maneuvers without turning it. This will also save on wear and tear, but it should also speed up play time.
3. They just look cool.
I foresee the constant swapping in ship to ship will reduce the durability of my dials such that the hole widens and they begin to spin freely refusing to hold tight on a maneuver. And I'm not buying one for every ship I own, so unless they are purposely loose in the ring with a mechanism to lock a maneuver in place, which doesn't seem to be the case as of yet, my plan is zero.
I can't really justify the money on these when there are so many ships I still want.
I will buy them, starting with epics and my regular ships and go from there. They look great and the ease of use is high.

You know, I could see buying these for my Epic ships. Because Epic ships.
For my tournament setup yes. For all of them no.
None. Not like mine are wearing out.
I have some acrylic-magnetised ones on the way anyway.
I like the command dials in Armada.
It's not just durability that these provide, but also the ability to see all the manuevers on a dial.

Yeah I could see some practical reasons. Many people are talking about using them to swap-able dials however I don't think they were designed to be as interchangeable. I think once the dial is upgrades it was intended at such.
So other than cosmetics what practical reasons these dials would be purchased? Where alone with the above here is where I see the primary reason people would buy dials.
However I also understand all the nopes in this thread. X-wing although having one of the lowest barriers to entry and being the most affordable table top miniature games when compared to others like hordes or Warhammer or even the newer game from FFG Star Wars Armada. It is still a rather spendy hobby. For me personally when given the choice to have all my current dials in plastic shells or all the ships in Wave 8, I will honestly have to say Wave 8 will win.
For the Mats I like them and I have an unofficial mat but they all slip and slide way too much and all four is just expensive. For the new colored bases I might get some if the pegs fit better and with the colors I can set aside each for which ship I used. Still I already have all the bases for my ships. Same for the dials, I have too many ships that in order to upgrade all the dials it would just cost too much. Now upgrading the huge ships since I only have 4 (5 if I include the GR-75 as a Scum ship, got to get another dial) It wouldn't cost as much as my entire collection.
I am thinking of getting a rebel pack to see if I like them better. I would end up getting a second set if I like them. I would have
1-B-wing
2-outrider
3-t70
4-t65
5-awing
6-ywing
Which covers 90% of the lists I build
